Malak Musleh... Boxing Champion Dies on Gaza Beach

Gaza lost its young boxing champion, Malak Musleh, who succumbed to her wounds in an Israeli airstrike targeting the "Al-Baqa" beachfront resort, which was sheltering dozens of civilians fleeing the ravages of the bombing.

The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 33 civilians, including several journalists, in addition to dozens more wounded and widespread destruction. Press sources reported that the bombing was direct and sudden, hitting the resort while civilians were inside.

A number of victims have been identified, including journalists:
Ismail Abu Hatab, Mustafa Abu Omeira, Hisham Ayman Mansour, Hussam Mansour, and activist Omar Zeno.

Eyewitnesses reported that at the time of the attack, dozens of people, including children, were lined up in front of a water truck inside the rest house, attempting to secure their basic needs. The airstrike suddenly struck, turning the scene into a tragedy. Bodies were scattered, and some body parts reached the beach.

Al-Baqa rest house is one of the most prominent open spaces in Gaza where residents seek refuge from the intense bombardment of residential areas. However, it was not far from the targeted area this time.

فقدت غزة بطلة الملاكمة الشابة ملاك مصلح، التي قضت متأثرة بجراحها، جراء غارة إسرائيلية استهدفت استراحة "الباقة" على شاطئ المدينة، والتي كانت تؤوي عشرات المدنيين الهاربين من ويلات القصف.

وأسفر الاعتداء عن سقوط 33 مواطنا على الأقل، بينهم عدد من الصحفيين، إضافة إلى عشرات الجرحى ودمار واسع في المكان. وأفادت مصادر صحفية أن القصف كان مباشرًا ومفاجئًا، وأصاب الاستراحة أثناء وجود المدنيين بداخلها.

وتم التعرف على عدد من الضحايا، من بينهم الصحافيون:
إسماعيل أبو حطب، مصطفى أبو عميرة، هشام أيمن منصور، حسام منصور، إضافة إلى الناشط عمر زينو.

وأشار شهود عيان إلى أن لحظة الاستهداف كانت تشهد اصطفاف عشرات الأشخاص – بينهم أطفال – أمام شاحنة مياه داخل الاستراحة، في محاولة لتأمين احتياجاتهم الأساسية، قبل أن تباغتهم الغارة، وتحوّل المشهد إلى مأساة، تطايرت فيها الأجساد ووصلت بعض الأشلاء إلى شاطئ البحر.

تُعد استراحة "الباقة" من أبرز المساحات المفتوحة التي يلجأ إليها الأهالي في غزة هربًا من القصف المكثف على المناطق السكنية، إلا أنها لم تكن بعيدة عن دائرة الاستهداف هذه المرة.
