Gaza Strip: Dozens of Victims, Including a Journalist, in Israeli Shelling of a Beach Resort

The death toll from the Israeli shelling that targeted the "Al-Baqa" beach resort on Gaza City's beach has risen to 33 Palestinian martyrs and more than 50 wounded, some in critical condition. Medical sources confirmed that journalist Ismail Abu Hatab was among the victims, while journalist Bayan Abu Sultan sustained injuries whose nature has not yet been determined. There are fears that the number of victims under the rubble will increase.

With the death of Abu Hatab, the number of journalists killed since the beginning of Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 227. This ongoing aggression, which began on October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in the deaths of 56,531 Palestinians, most of them children and women, and the injury of 133,642 others, according to a preliminary toll.

ارتفعت حصيلة القصف الإسرائيلي الذي استهدف استراحة "الباقة" على شاطئ بحر مدينة غزة إلى 33 شهيدا فلسطينيا وأكثر من 50 مصابا، بينهم حالات حرجة. وأكدت مصادر طبية أن من بين الضحايا الصحفي إسماعيل أبو حطب، فيما أصيبت الصحفية بيان أبو سلطان بجروح لم تتضح طبيعتها بعد، وسط مخاوف من تزايد أعداد الضحايا تحت الأنقاض.

وباستشهاد أبو حطب، يرتفع عدد الصحفيين الذين قضوا منذ بدء حرب الإبادة الجماعية الإسرائيلية على القطاع إلى 227، في عدوان متواصل منذ السابع من أكتوبر 2023 أسفر حتى الآن عن استشهاد 56 ألفا و531 فلسطينيا، معظمهم من الأطفال والنساء، وإصابة 133 ألفا و642 آخرين في حصيلة غير نهائية.
