On September 29, 2024, alleged US-led Coalition airstrikes in the town of al-Hari in the countryside of al-Bukamal, Deir Ezzor, Syria injured at least five civilians, including three children and a woman.
U.S. Central Command (@CENTCOM) in a post via X/Twitter stated that “U.S. Central Command Forces conducted two strikes in Syria, killing 37 terrorist operatives, including multiple senior leaders of the terrorist organizations of ISIS and Hurras al-Din, an Al Qaeda affiliate.” However, as the statement did not specify the location, it is unclear whether they are referring to this incident.
The x/Twitter account of @DeirEzzore reported that a family—a man, a woman, three children, accompanied by a woman—was injured by an unknown bombing “in one of the targeted headquarters in the middle of a crowded residential neighborhood that the militias had taken over” and that their condition was still critical. In the post is shared a video that appears to have been filmed at night, showing several people lying on the ground while others walk around them using flashlights. Due to the low visibility, it is unclear whether those on the ground are injured or deceased, but they remain motionless.
X/Twitter account’s @nahermedia provided a similar report, stating that an entire family (a man, his wife, 3 daughters, and a child) were injured in an airstrike “on an Iranian militia site in the town of Al-Hari, due to the presence of the militia site among civilian homes.” Other sources, including Abo Mohammed via Facebook mentioned only the “whole family” of the father, mother, and three children as injured, attributing the strikes to the “international coalition”.
Sham news reported that the US airstrikes across Syria “came hours after the American base in the Conoco field east of Deir Ezzor was targeted by pro-Iranian militias.”
The @Ahmad_1alshble X/Twitter’s account provided the names of three militants “confirmed as a result of the airstrikes on Iranian militia sites in the village of al-Hari”: Mahmoud al-Haroun, al-Ibrahim al-Mula, Mohammad al-Hulaibi. The source added that the men had come from the town of Hatla.
