Last Updated: September 5, 2025

On the evening of November 26, 2024, at least three and up to five members of the al-Masry family were killed in an airstrike allegedly conducted by Israeli forces on the al-Masry family home in Hortaala, Lebanon. Multiple sources emphasised that the entire family was killed.

Reports on the attack were first published by Jalwan News at 5:21 p.m. and were summarily corroborated by Lebanon On News and MTV Lebanon News, among other Lebanese media outlets. An initial Facebook bulletin by the Lebanese Civil Defense forces published at 9:44 p.m. reported that three bodies had been retrieved from under the rubble of the house, but a later post by Hermel City at 10:17 p.m. put the death toll in Hortaala at five individuals.

Abdullah Hussein al-Masry was the only named fatality in the attack. While sources such as al-Jareeda and Lebanon On News identified Abdullah as being a “retired soldier”, he was also referred to as a “Hezbollah militia leader” by Jalwan News. Consequently, Airwars is presently unable to confirm his civilian status. The identities of the rest of the deceased are unknown, but have been reported by multiple sources as being members of the al-Masry family.

It is unknown if any individuals were injured as a result of the attack.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
