Airwars Assessment

Last Updated: May 26, 2026

On the evening of Monday, June 16, 2025, at least two Red Crescent (IRCS) paramedics, including Amir Hossein Jamshidpour and 52-year-old Mojtaba Maleki, were killed and at least two paramedics were injured as a result of an alleged Israeli “double-tap” drone strike hitting a rescue vehicle en route to help to transport those wounded in a previous strike on the Chitgar neighbourhood in west Tehran.

The death of two aid workers was initially announced by the Red Crescent to the media outlet IRNA: The Islamic Republic News Agency. Ambulance driver Mojtaba Maleki was killed, while his colleague and friend, Hossein Nikbakht, who had followed behind in a second rescue vehicle, was injured. Nikbakht later provided comments to the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) about the events of that day. Nikbakht had joined the Red Crescent Society in 2008. A level 3 Rescuer, Nikhbakht had worked daily shifts on the Tehran North Freeway and had previously responded to the 2022 floods in the village of Imamzadeh Davood, 20 kilometers north of Tehran.

However, according to a later comment by Mojtaba Khalidi, spokesman of the Red Crescent Society, three aid workers (paramedics) were killed in the attack. The name of the third victim is unknown but this will be updated, should new information come to light.

According to the local sources, a rescue crew from the Iranian Red Crescent Society was dispatched to the West Tehran area to assist in rescue and relief operations, following an airstrike on a military centre which occurred earlier in the day. An ambulance followed behind, accompanied by a rescue vehicle. Emergency workers were in action, assessing the scene when another explosion occurred, followed by another, in what is called a double-tap strike.

According to Nikbakht’s comments to ISNA, the emergency workers had met on Monday morning at their base, where they had posed for a group selfie, now circulating through the media. The picture shows a group of Red Crescent workers, dressed in red and white, smiling and looking towards the camera. It was the first time these emergency workers were responding to the aftermath of warfare, working in rubble caused by weapons explosions, rather than earthquakes or natural disasters for which they were trained.

Emergency worker Behnam Hazrati Fard had gone to assess the area when a drone appeared, apparently conducting intelligence activities. Then the first explosion occurred, knocking everybody to the ground. After the second explosion, Behnam appeared to be covered in blood, but Mojtaba could not be located. His body and the body of another emergency worker, Amir Hossein Jamshidpour, were later recovered from the scene. According to Hossein Nikbakht, “Mojtaba had been hit in the head and chest.”

Hossein added that the rescuers were all wearing special and distinctive clothes and that the ambulance had very specific markings, and he was sure that the drone that first identified us realized that we were rescuers, and our vehicle was also clearly marked as an ambulance, but they “still attacked us and martyred our colleagues in violation of all international laws.”

Pictures of a burned-out station emergency wagon, which appears to be white-coloured despite the damage, were posted on social media. The car tyres were destroyed, leaving the vehicle sitting only on the wheel rims; the car windows are all smashed out. The Red Crescent logo with the crest appears on the driver’s side door panel and is clearly still visible despite the damage to the vehicle. Images were circulated in the Iranian media of the vehicle being removed from the scene, adorned with flowers and Red Crescent flags.

The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic has released a testimonial to Mojtaba Maleki on its website, commenting on his commitment to service and altruism. There is a photo featuring Mojtada wearing a red and white zipped Red Crescent sweatshirt; he seems like a younger man, with slicked back dark hair, a neatly kept beard and a moustache, and a neutral expression looking towards the camera. The emergency service workers were volunteers.

According to his wife, who spoke to the Red Crescent Society, Mojtada, who was born on February 17, 1973, had decided to take paramedic courses as a teenager, after a pivotal moment in his life when he was standing in line at the bakery to buy bread, and the man in front of him had a cardiac arrest. As no one had knowledge of first aid or resuscitation procedures, the old man died, leading Mojtada to want to pursue courses in emergency treatment. This was a man who was attracted to helping and assisting others. He took the highest degree of training with the Red Crescent, learning how to respond to disaster situations.

Mojtada’s father highly praised the personal qualities of his deceased son: “He had the distinctive qualities of the blessed name of the second Imam of the Shiites. From patience and tolerance to exemplary dignity and peace. It didn’t matter what the crisis was. From a family challenge to relief and rescue operations, Mojtaba had a personality that always tried to resolve issues calmly and logically, and everyone was ultimately satisfied.” He added that Mojtada had a degree in electronics and was active in mobile phone repairs and installing CCTV cameras, but his main job was relief and rescue in the Red Crescent.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.

Referring to the strike in which Amir Hossein and Mojtaba were killed, and Hossein and Behnam were injured, some sources also named Yaser Zivari and Mehdi Zartaji and shared pictures of the men. Yaser and Mehdi were also paramedics who were killed, but in incidents ISIR250614d and ISIR250613t, respectively.

According to the information website of the Red Crescent Society; In the heart of the dark days and nights of war, the same imposed attack by the Zionist regime against Iran, the light of hope of the five heavenly rescuers of the Red Crescent illuminated the path of the lost. They wanted to save lives, but they neglected their own lives. They gave their lives in the heart of the enemy to be the miracle of the innocents whose lives had been destroyed by the shadow of war. Those who had love for their fellow man flowing in their veins and sacrifice was a word that found meaning in their lives. The five stars who flew in the sky to serve the homeland and left their scars on their hearts, but their memory will remain eternal. The story of the sacrifice of these five earthly angels is a story full of love, sacrifice and selflessness. Those who, in the guise of rescuers, gave their lives in sincerity to put a smile on a painful face or to silence a groan. The narrative of the lives and martyrdom of these great men is not only a description of their bravery, but also an invitation to a deeper understanding of what it means to be human and to serve the people selflessly. Each of these heroes, with a backpack of love and knowledge, set foot on a path that ended in eternity. The names of Yaser, Mojtaba, Seyyed Ali Akbar, Amir Hassan, and Mehdi shine like a pure gem in the glorious history of Iran, and their memory, like a pleasant fragrance, caresses the nostrils of souls. In the following, we will get to know a part of the lives of the 5 martyrs of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 12-day Sacred Defense who were martyred following the direct and terrorist attacks of the Zionist regime . Mehdi Zartaji; Martyr of the East Azerbaijan Province Rescuer Mehdi is one of the martyrs of the Red Crescent of East Azerbaijan Province who, with his martyrdom, registered his name among the martyrs of the path of service and sacrifice, and his memory will live forever in the hearts of the grateful people of Iran. Martyr Zartaji was martyred while performing his duty and providing aid to the wounded on the first day of the Zionist regime's airstrikes. He was in charge of the shift at the Gamichi Rescue Base in Osku County, and while he was desperately trying to transport the wounded to a safe place, he was targeted by enemy drones and achieved his long-cherished wish of martyrdom. Mehdi Zartaji, 39, was a veteran Red Crescent rescuer who had dedicated his life to serving the people and helping the needy for many years. He had two teenage sons. At the time of his martyrdom, he was also performing his duty and transporting the wounded to a safe place. The family of martyr Zartaji proudly remembers his sacrifice, and the martyr's cousin, who worked with him in the Red Crescent for many years, says the following about the days he spent with Mehdi: "Mehdi was like a brother to me. This man was always with the people and tried to help those who were not in good economic conditions and to solve the problems of the rural people where we lived, even with the smallest possible task. I remember well that the people of the village always looked for him to solve their work problems, and Mr. Mehdi was never forgotten. He continued, referring to the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness of martyr Zartaji, saying: On the day of the accident, it was not his turn to go on a mission, but since he was always on the front lines of service, he did not allow any of us to carry out operations and he went on a mission himself. According to the mission, we had an injured person in the Tabriz radar area and we had to transfer this injured person to medical centers. He was on the radar route when the car was hit by a missile and he was martyred . The cousin of martyr Zartaji, recalling his long-standing wish, says: "Mahdi always spoke of his love for martyrdom and of being able to achieve this wish. Mahdi's voice still whispers in my ear, saying that one day this child-killing Zionist regime will be destroyed by God's grace and peace will return to the occupied lands." Mojtaba Maleki; Martyr Rescuer of Tehran Province Mojtaba, born on 17 February 1994, one day before the birth of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS), inherited the qualities of dignity and calmness. He joined the Red Crescent Society in 1391, and in every crisis, he put calmness and logic at the forefront of his work and always tried to resolve issues in a way that would satisfy everyone. It was on Monday, June 16, when the news came that the Zionist regime had attacked a Red Crescent ambulance in Tehran and two rescuers were martyred while on duty. "Mojtaba Maleki" was one of these martyrs . His father considers his main motivation for helping people and joining the Red Crescent to be altruism and love for the homeland, and says: Mojtaba had learned to love Iran at home and sacrificed his life for this cause. It didn't matter what the crisis was. From a family challenge to relief and rescue operations; Mojtaba had a personality that always tried to resolve issues calmly and logically, and that everyone would be satisfied in the end. The same years that we went to Natanz, around 1990 onwards, he became a member of the Red Crescent. His interest in these matters goes back to his brother Mustafa's temporary presence in the Red Crescent's work. He had a degree in electronics and was active in mobile phone repairs and CCTV installation, but his main job was relief and rescue in the Red Crescent. In general, we had raised the children at home to help people at all times; even to the extent of pushing people's cars. Mojtaba had learned altruism, philanthropy, and love for Iran at home, and he sacrificed his life in this way. Amir Hassan Jamshidpour; Martyr Relief Worker of Tehran Province Amir Hassan, a young artist who gave new color and fragrance to houses with his capable hands, was with the Red Crescent with all his heart in emergency situations. Born in 1999, he always joined the community and served in special situations. Although his job was something else, in times of crisis, he dedicated himself to the Red Crescent. Ms. Taj Taghinejad, the head of the Red Crescent of Tehran's 22nd District, remembers Amir Hassan as follows: "Amir Hassan, from the very beginning of the Corona era, despite his many busy schedules, came to our aid voluntarily. He had completed relief courses and was familiar with its techniques, and had an active and impressive presence in disinfection and vaccination. Whenever we felt the need, he reached out to us without any expectations. He continued, referring to Amir Hassan's unique sense of responsibility: "During the war, even though his family had moved to another city, he returned to Tehran to be with us. One of my colleagues recounted that Amir Hassan's fiancée had said: "When he saw the situation like this, he could not stay and returned to Tehran." Recalling Amir Hassan's last mission, Taghinejad said: The night before his martyrdom, Amir Hassan and one of his colleagues were sent on a mission by ambulance and were engaged until around 10 am. After returning, they were advised to rest to be ready for the next missions. But Amir Hassan, regardless of his fatigue, went to record and record information. It was as if he had been inspired that the bliss of martyrdom awaited him. Ms. Taghinejad talks about the last image she has of Amir Hassan in her mind: "An hour before we were sent on a mission, we saw him joking and laughing, unaware that this would be our last meeting." Finally, she talks about Amir Hassan's sacrifice at the moment of his martyrdom: "At that moment, one of the injured who needed immediate help, Amir Hassan, immediately rushed to help the injured and was hit at the same moment and martyred." Yaser Ziuri, a martyred aid worker from Hamedan Province Yaser, a 37-year-old aid worker, was the target of a cowardly attack by the Zionist regime on his humanitarian mission on July 1st and was martyred. Despite spending 8 days in the hospital after being seriously injured, he finally died on the second day of the incident. Martyr Ziuri was a firefighter in Asadabad, Hamedan for ten years and had a bachelor's degree in management and a bachelor's degree in rescue and relief operations. He joined the Red Crescent Society in 2010 and volunteered to help people. His love for the Red Crescent was indescribable; he enjoyed taking every step for his fellow man and was eager to save others. His kind and selfless spirit was well-known, both on missions and otherwise. Stories tell of his kind face on the front lines of providing aid to the war wounded; someone who constantly rushed to help those caught in the flames of disaster. He was not only a rescuer, but also a thankless shelter for wounded souls. His pregnant wife, who has a seven-month-old child in her womb, is still shocked and in tears in mourning her husband. She cannot believe that her husband has lost his friend and helper forever. And her three-year-old son, unaware of the loss of his father, only sees the sadness on the faces of those around him. Taybeh Farnia says with bitterness about her martyred husband: “Yaser considered rescue work not only a job, but also a divine love. The day the war broke out, he told me: “One fights with bullets, another with fire, and another with relief work,” so he immediately went to provide relief work. He had a kind and selfless spirit and was always trying to take a step towards helping those in need, and he experienced indescribable joy from this work. In the midst of the events and the height of hardship, fate decreed that Yasser, on the first day of the incident, when it was not his shift, would come to the aid of the injured with a firm resolve. On that fateful day, the wave of the explosion engulfed him and shrapnel from the incident covered his body from the neck down. He spent eight days in the hospital, undergoing two difficult surgeries, and despite his relative recovery and overcoming the initial dangers, God’s destiny was for him to join the ranks of the martyrs. When he was hospitalized in the ICU, he showed me the only splinter of his hand so that I would not know about the severity of his condition. Since I was pregnant, he did not want me to be hurt. His last words to our son were: “Be careful, mom, don’t hurt him.” He told me that he loved you, I said that I loved you too, and thus he left us with his last memory. These were our last conversations. Now that nearly a month has passed since his passing, it is difficult for us to believe that he is gone. Seyyed Ali Akbar Mirmohammadi; Martyr rescuer of Isfahan Province Ali Akbar, born in 1991, was the son of the glorious veteran of the Sacred Defense, Seyyed Mahmoud Mirmohammadi. A young man who was newlywed and had only been married for three or four months, but his heart was full of love for serving and helping his fellow men. In 2005, after completing a first aid course, he joined the Shahreza Red Crescent Society and since then, he has participated seriously in relief and humanitarian activities. He not only worked closely and sincerely in relief work, but also in the voluntary affairs of the society. Seyyed Morteza Emadi, head of the Shahreza Red Crescent Branch, says of Martyr Mirmohammadi: Seyyed Ali Akbar began training in the field of relief and rescue in 1999 and in 1400, he succeeded in obtaining the rank of first aider. He was an organized first aider since 1400 and in 1401 and 1402, he earned the ranks of third rescuer and second rescuer, respectively. His continuous communication and activity was active in the field of relief and rescue and he also participated in cultural and public benefit fields. Emadi, referring to Seyyed Ali Akbar's place of service, says: "He was active in the road relief and rescue base and on July 1, the news of his martyrdom reached us. Seyyed Ali Akbar spent his last shift at the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Base 48 hours before his martyrdom. The head of the Shahreza Red Crescent, recalling his last meeting with Seyyed Ali Akbar, says: The last meeting we had was when he came to the base with his wife. We talked for half an hour and how much his spirit was the same as the charitable works of the Red Crescent. Seyyed Ali Akbar was a humble person and ultimately had good relationships with humility and humility. If he had to go to the base, he would take the lead and do the work with readiness and humility. He was disciplined and would go to his shifts on time, and he was never given a warning. His commitment and responsibility were noticed by his friends. Emadi, referring to Seyyed Ali Akbar's moral and religious characteristics, says: Seyyed had faith, purity, and was religious. He was the leader in marches, Friday prayers, and public appeals. He was martyred at the moment of the missile strike in Isfahan. His wife was also a volunteer member of the Red Crescent and had several public benefit activities in the community. They were truly a Red Crescent family. Seyyed Ali Akbar had two university degrees, a bachelor's degree in social sciences and a bachelor's degree in law. / Sima Farahani

At the funeral of the martyred aid workers, the Red Crescent emphasized: "The world should see the evidence of Zionist evil." From the day the Zionist regime's brutal attacks on Iranian soil began, the Red Crescent Society's aid workers were among the aid groups that put on the uniform of aid workers from the very first moment and arrived at the scene to provide aid to the wounded in this war without fear of possible dangers or even putting their lives at risk. SNNTV – Taqi Nejad: “I couldn’t tell Martyr Jamshidpour’s fiancée that this young man was torn apart before my eyes” / Account of the moment Red Crescent امدادگران (aid workers) were killed + video The head of the rescue team spoke about the details of the recent attack by the Zionist regime and the killing of young rescue workers. She said that Martyr Jamshidpour was directly targeted while providing aid. He had heard the voice of an injured person calling for help, went to assist him, and was then targeted. According to the Social Affairs Group of Daneshjoo News Agency, airstrikes by the Zionist regime on various areas ultimately led to the deaths of several young rescue workers who were trying to save the lives of the injured. In this program, Ms. Taj Taqi Nejad, head of the rescue team, discussed this human tragedy and the difficult conditions of relief operations in the attacked areas. This tragic event and the deaths of these selfless young people have once again drawn attention to humanitarian and relief needs in times of crisis. “When a rescue worker is at the scene, the only thing that matters is helping people—not rank or position” The rescue team leader told SNNTV: “The Red Crescent volunteers had gone to pull out the wounded when they were struck again. All the members of the Red Crescent who work with us are volunteers.” She added: “In the second attack, 12 of our members were trapped under the rubble. The same young men who had already been pulled from under the debris volunteered to go back into the strike site again. After they came out from under the rubble, they said, ‘We know the area better, and we ourselves have to go back.’” “Our greatest pride is working voluntarily / Every one of our volunteers has their own job” Taqi Nejad added: “At our base, some people not only volunteer their time but also contribute financially out of their own pockets.” “When we look at the number of martyrs, we see 46 children among them. If civilians are not being targeted, then what does this statistic say?” “We were not carrying weapons—we went with stretchers, and they targeted us” The rescue team leader said: “When our own volunteer members were killed, that was the hardest moment for me.” “They wanted to make sure no one left there alive” / Recounting the moment the Red Crescent rescuers were killed She recalled: “Martyr Jamshidpour was directly targeted while carrying out relief work. He heard the voice of an injured person asking for help, went to assist them, and then they targeted him. After that, our ambulance was also targeted.” “I was the only woman in that operations group / I felt terrible, but I couldn’t show it” The rescue team leader added: “In those moments, I couldn’t turn back. I only wanted to bring our people back. While drones were circling above our heads and our rescuers had been targeted several times, all I could think about were the people we had left there.” She continued: “I felt terrible myself, but I couldn’t show it because I was responsible for the team.” “Red Crescent bases remain on full alert” Taqi Nejad continued: “There has been no change in our work. We are still on full alert, and during those 12 days, we only went home three times.” “I couldn’t tell Martyr Jamshidpour’s fiancée that this young man was torn apart before my eyes” The rescue team leader said: “The martyrs we lost were full of hope for life, and informing their families of their deaths created truly heartbreaking scenes.” “I will stay until my last drop of blood / It is painful that even rescue forces are being targeted” She added: “When our volunteer members come to me after these events and say, ‘We are still here,’ I cannot say that I am not. Even though the Red Crescent workers were clearly marked as rescue personnel, they were still targeted.”

According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society's information website, it was Monday, June 16, when news arrived that the Zionist regime had attacked a Red Crescent ambulance and two rescue workers were martyred while on duty. "Mojtaba Maleki" was one of these martyrs. None of us had seen war, but we were fully prepared. Hossein Nikbakht is Mojtaba's friend and colleague who were together that Monday in the breathtaking rescue and relief operation in Tehran: "We took pictures and talked about relief and martyrdom, and joked. None of us had seen war and had no idea. That's why we were going through the hardest days of our lives. Among all the incidents, the war was the hardest for us because we saw the rubble and destroyed residential houses from close up, we pulled our fellow countrymen's women and children out of the rubble and hoped that we might save lives. It was the same evening that west Tehran was attacked again and we were sent to the area for operations. We had an ambulance and a rescue vehicle. I was supposed to be sent with Mojtaba in an ambulance, but the plan changed and three other people went to the west of the capital in an ambulance, and I took myself to the scene in my rescue vehicle.” This rescuer explains that they had gone into action to assess the area when the first explosion occurred with a very strong wave; they had just come to their senses when another explosion... and his friend was martyred: “A few minutes after the second explosion, I came to my senses and saw that I was injured; but I stopped and looked for my other colleagues again and found almost everyone except Behnam and Mojtaba. I went to our cars, which were parked a little further away, and our ambulance was completely burned and nothing was left of it. During the Gaza war, I had seen the Zionist regime attack even rescue workers, but I couldn’t believe it until I saw that the ambulance was completely destroyed. A few minutes later, Behnam, covered in blood, came towards us; but there was no news of Mojtaba. We were hoping to find Mojtaba, but about an hour later I saw several military personnel carrying a body and carrying it away. A few minutes later they brought another body that was covered in a blanket. We realized that Mojtaba Maleki, our good friend who had been married for almost two or three years, had been martyred along with another aid worker named "Amir Hossein Jamshidpour." Those two bodies were the bodies of our forces that were taken from the scene. The entire team was in a very bad state, so they did not allow us to face the bodies, but then I heard that Mojtaba had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and chest. "He had been looking for Red Crescent courses since he was a teenager. It had not been more than a few years since they started living together. They had imagined thousands of dreams for their future. His grieving wife says of Mojtaba's interest in volunteer work and helping others since his teenage years: "Mojtaba decided to take Red Crescent courses when he was a teenager. As he himself said, when he was young and standing in line at the bakery to buy bread, an old man suffered a cardiac arrest in front of his eyes. Because no one had the knowledge to save the lives of people in that critical situation, the old man lost his life. This painful incident prompted Mojtaba to learn Red Crescent courses and receive the degree of sacrifice, which is the highest degree of Red Crescent training." His wish was martyrdom. On the morning of June 16, Mojtaba Maleki set off on a mission like all previous days; but his farewell that day was different from all previous days. The young woman says about this: "It had been almost 3 years since Mojtaba and I had been married. His dream was to be martyred and he always prayed in his qunut prayers that he would be martyred and in the end he achieved his great dream. From the day Israel's attack on our beloved Iran began, I was stressed and anxious. I knew what my wife was pursuing and that was why I was stressed. Because when Mojtaba made the promise of Sadeq II, he said that we must raze Israel to the ground. He said that we must destroy global oppression and he believed that we had the power to do so. "The last phone conversation "was at noon when I found out that Israel was going to attack several areas in Tehran, including the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation, Chitgar and .. I called my wife several times since the morning and asked her to take care of herself." Martyr Maleki's wife continues with anger: "The last time I called her was around 5:30 in the evening. It was clear that she was very busy. I once again emphasized to her to take care of herself. She said that we are ready and not to worry; whatever God wills, it will happen. I said goodbye to him, but I didn’t know that I would never hear his voice again. I am a nurse, and that day, when my shift ended, I called my wife, but someone else answered. The person who answered said that enemy missiles had attacked an area in Tehran and were conducting an operation. My wife and three ambulances had gone to the intended location to provide relief. Apparently, the enemy had set up an ambush and was waiting for the rescue vehicles to arrive. Then, they directed the drone over the rescue vehicles and targeted the rescue vehicles; defenseless and unarmed people who had gone to save the lives of their fellow citizens.” The last selfie that remained was Hazrat Fard, one of the rescuers on the scene of the war, who was present at the moment his colleagues were martyred and was himself injured. The heaviness of his voice shows that it is difficult for him to even remember that moment. That moment will never be erased from this rescuer’s mind. A moment full of passion and terrifying seconds as lives were lost one by one: “I didn’t understand what happened at all. All my attention was on finding Mehdi and Mojtaba, and we were so caught up in this that we got away from the ambulance. At that moment, the ambulance hit us and we lost Mojtaba. I was also hit by the blast wave. When I came to, I realized that my colleague was taking me to the ambulance to take me away from there. I immediately screamed and resisted. I wanted to go back to my colleagues. But they wouldn't let me. My ears couldn't hear anything. I felt bad. But I wanted to stay with the children. To go to Mojtaba. But they wouldn't let me and forcibly threw me into the ambulance and took me away. But all my thoughts were with the children. I still can't believe that my comrades are no more. Mojtaba had been saying since day one that, given the critical situation that had arisen, we must always stay with the people. All of us rescuers go on missions with love and our focus is on serving the people, but every time we went on a mission to war scenes, we hugged each other, took souvenir photos, and said goodbye to each other, because martyrdom might be our last mission.” From patience and tolerance to exemplary dignity and peace, Mojtabi was born on February 17, 1973; it was one day before the birth of Imam Hassan Mojtaba, and that is why we named him Mojtaba. Martyr Maleki’s father says, “He had the distinctive qualities of the blessed name of the second Imam of the Shiites. From patience and tolerance to exemplary dignity and peace. It didn’t matter what the crisis was. From a family challenge to relief and rescue operations; Mojtaba had a personality that always tried to resolve issues calmly and logically, and everyone was ultimately satisfied. "Mojtaba had learned altruism, philanthropy, and love for Iran at home. Martyr Maleki's father says: "The same years we went to Natanz, around 1990, he became a member of the Red Crescent. His interest in these matters goes back to his brother Mustafa's temporary presence in the Red Crescent's work." Of course, Mojtaba Maleki's father also mentioned the bakery queue incident and the main spark for learning first aid and joining the Red Crescent as the main motivation for his martyred son: "He had a degree in electronics and was active in mobile phone repairs and installing CCTV cameras, but his main job was relief and rescue in the Red Crescent. In general, we raised the children at home to help people at all times; even to the extent of pushing people's cars. "Mujtaba had learned altruism, humanity, and love for Iran at home, and he sacrificed his life for this very reason."/Razieh Zargari

They wear red and white clothes and have no goal other than to help others; they stood in the heart of fire and rubble and served; they gave their lives to save lives. They are the unsung and unclaimed heroes of this land who did not leave the field and stood for a name at the cost of their lives; Iran According to ISNA, the majority of them are young and have not seen war with their own eyes, they do not know what they are going to face and may not know that this operation is the most difficult operation of their lives, but they still volunteer and step on a path that is more unfamiliar than any other path. These young volunteers are the same Red Crescent Society aid workers, most of whom are literally only volunteers and do not receive salaries and wages, and they rightly displayed a display of dedication, bravery and sacrifice in this 12-day imposed war. The rescuers of our country's Red Crescent Society, in all crises from floods and earthquakes to wars, are the first group of rescue forces who voluntarily go into the heart of fire, smoke and rubble to help their fellow countrymen; in this path, they even sacrifice their lives so that the light of hope remains lit. They are unarmed heroes who are always present in the front lines of rescue; one day the battlefield is the Shahid Rajaee Port of Bandar Abbas and the next day it is the rubble of residential houses that were attacked by the Zionist regime, they do not recognize any obstacles in this way. During the 12 days of the Zionist regime's aggression, the Red Crescent Society, with 8,500 rescuers, stood up and stood up to defend the homeland and save fellow countrymen, day and night, even though attacking rescuers is contrary to international principles and treaties and is a war crime. It was Monday, June 15, when the news came that the Zionist regime had attacked a Red Crescent ambulance and two rescuers were martyred while on duty, "Mojtaba Maleki" was one of these martyrs. They saw me as a rescuer; but they refused Hossein Nikbakht is one of the rescuers who was with martyr Maleki on the day of the incident. He said in an interview with ISNA: I joined the Red Crescent Society in 2008 and after completing various training courses, I participated in various operations such as the flood in Imamzadeh Davoud with the rank of Rescuer 3, and I am on daily shift at the rescue and relief base on the Tehran-North Freeway. Referring to the Zionist regime's attacks on our country, he added: Since it was a few-day Eid al-Ghadir holiday, I had traveled to the north of the country with my family when one of my colleagues called at 6:30 in the morning and informed me of the start of the attacks, so I quickly returned to Tehran. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to face, but I got to the base and started the search and rescue operation with other rescuers. I participated in various operations all over Tehran for four days, day and night. During these days, I saw things that I couldn’t even imagine, but I became a rescuer to be of use to my country in such days, so I had no fear in my heart and continued my work with trust in God. Even the debris of war is different The Red Crescent Society’s rescuers have always been sent to different parts of the country to provide relief during floods and earthquakes, but this time the situation is different. This time, this operation is a war, an imposed war, and the debris is the debris of the houses of our compatriots where women and children lived. Removing debris in these areas is very difficult because even the debris of war is different from the debris of an earthquake. He says about the day of the attack on the ambulance: It was Monday morning when I and a few rescuers, including Mojtaba, took a souvenir photo and talked about providing relief and martyrdom, and joked. None of us had seen war and had no idea, and we were going through the hardest days of our lives. Among all the incidents, the war was the hardest for us, as we saw the rubble and destroyed residential houses from close up, pulled women and children of our compatriots out of the rubble, and hoped that we might save lives. Nikbakht continues: That evening, west Tehran was attacked again, and we were sent to the area for an operation. We had an ambulance and a rescue vehicle. I was supposed to be sent with Mojtaba in an ambulance, but the plan changed and three other people went to the west of the capital in an ambulance, and I took myself to the scene in the rescue vehicle. He pointed out that this was an attack on a military center; He continues: One of the rescuers named "Behnam Hazratifard" went to assess the area, and a few minutes later a drone appeared above the rescuers, apparently intending to identify them, and then the first explosion occurred. We all fell to the ground because the blast wave was so strong and threw us. A few of the children, like me, had blood on their hands and feet, but we were still looking for each other until the second explosion occurred. My friend was martyred This rescuer states: A few minutes after the second explosion, I came to my senses and saw that I was injured; but I stopped and looked for my other colleagues again and found almost everyone except Behnam and Mojtaba. I went to my cars, which were parked a little further away, but our ambulance was completely burned and nothing was left of it. In the Gaza war, I had seen the Zionist regime even attack aid workers, but I couldn't believe it until I saw that the ambulance was completely destroyed. A few minutes later, Behnam, covered in blood, came towards us; but there was no sign of Mojtaba. Nikbakht says: At that moment, we were confused by what had happened, but we had to continue our work. We were reassessing the area and hoping to find Mojtaba. About an hour later, I saw several military forces carrying a body and taking it away. A few minutes later, they brought another body that was covered in their clothes. We realized that Mojtaba Maleki, our good friend who had been married for almost two years and had become a groom, had been martyred along with another aid worker who was present at the scene from another area, named "Amir Hossein Jamshidpour," and those two bodies were the bodies of our forces that were taken away from the scene. Our entire team was in a very bad state, so they didn't let us face the bodies, but then I heard that Mojtaba had been hit in the head and chest. Our colleagues were martyred in violation of all international laws. He added that these rescuers were all wearing special and distinctive clothes and that the ambulance had very specific markings: I'm sure the drone that first identified us realized that we were rescuers, and our vehicle was also clearly marked as an ambulance, but they still attacked us and martyred our colleagues in violation of all international laws. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this fake regime has done this, but I don't know why no one is doing anything to them. Don't they know that the rescuers are only coming to help and don't have any weapons in their hands? According to this aid worker, such barbaric actions of the Zionist regime do not instill any fear in our hearts, but rather make us more determined to walk on this path to witness the destruction of this fake regime. Although, according to the Secretary General of the Red Crescent Society, this 12-day war was as difficult as 12 years for the aid workers, it is hoped that no more aid workers will be sent except for floods and earthquakes. In this brutal war, 4 aid workers were martyred and more than 30 people were injured. End of message

Tehran - IRNA - "Mojtaba Maleki" is one of those heroes who has not seen war, but was prepared for difficult days. He learned to rescue since he was a teenager and remained faithful to it until the moment when, while providing relief, an enemy missile targeted the Red Crescent ambulance and stopped his heart from beating. This report is a story of the life, desire, and martyrdom of a rescuer who gave his life for humanity. The sound of the siren still rings in the ears. The smell of smoke, rubble, and anxiety has not been erased from the memory of the streets. In Tehran, in the days when its sky was insecure and its hearts were worried, silent heroes came to the field; unarmed, but powerful; not for war, but for rescue. The shadow of the missiles still hangs over the memories. The streets that were once full of life, turned into scenes of destruction and screams in a matter of minutes. Women who hugged their children, men who cleared away the rubble with their bare hands, and rescuers who, dressed in red crescents, searched for signs of life through the dirt and blood. In the heart of these terrible days, there are names that went silent but became a cry; a cry of sacrifice, a cry of devotion. One of these names is "Mojtaba Maleki"; a young man from the generation of the seventies, who dedicated his life to saving the lives of others and whose death itself became a deeper meaning of life. He was neither a military commander, nor a well-known face in the media; but with a heart full of faith, he set off on missions every day that sometimes smelled of smoke, sometimes of tears, and finally, of blood. An unassuming rescuer who had learned from a young age how to hold hands, not fists, and how to stand in the middle of an incident, not to run away. His last mission was a mission like always; Helping the wounded, rescuing the injured, alleviating the pain of people trapped under the rubble of fear and missiles. But this time, the enemy was waiting; ruthlessly and deliberately, he targeted ambulances, and took the lives of the most defenseless. "Mojtabi" left, with the same familiar smile that was recorded in the last photo, next to his comrades. He left, but his story remained; a story of people who came without fuss, gave their lives, so that the name of Iran would remain, so that the tradition of humanity would remain. His wish was to be martyred and he always prayed in his prayers that he would be a martyr, and in the end, he achieved his great wish. The best description for them is unknown heroes; rescuers who wear the sacred garment of humanitarianism and go into the heart of fire and rubble to serve; they give their lives to save lives. The unknown and unclaimed heroes of this land stood for the name of Iran at the cost of their lives during the sacred 12-day defense of the homeland. According to the Red Crescent Society, it was Monday, June 16, when news arrived that the Zionist regime had attacked a Red Crescent ambulance and two rescue workers were martyred while on duty. "Mojtaba Maleki" was one of these martyrs. None of us had seen war, but we were fully prepared. Hossein Nikbakht is Mojtaba's friend and colleague who were together that Monday in the breathtaking rescue and relief operation in Tehran: We took pictures and talked about providing relief and martyrdom, and joking. None of us had seen war and had no idea. That is why we were going through the most difficult days of our lives. Among all the incidents, the war was the most difficult for us, as we saw the rubble and destroyed residential houses from close quarters, pulled our fellow countrymen's women and children out of the rubble, and hoped that we might save lives. That evening, west Tehran was attacked again, and we were sent to the area for the operation. We had an ambulance and a rescue vehicle. I was supposed to be sent with Mojtaba in an ambulance, but the plan changed and three other people went to the west of the capital in an ambulance, and I took myself to the scene in my rescue vehicle. This rescuer explains that they had gone into action to assess the area when the first explosion occurred with a very strong wave; Tara had come to her senses when another explosion occurred and her friend was martyred: A few minutes after the second explosion, I came to my senses and saw that I was injured; but I stopped and looked for my other colleagues again and found almost everyone except Behnam and Mojtaba. I went to our cars, which were parked a little further away, our ambulance was completely burned and nothing was left of it. During the Gaza war, I had seen the Zionist regime even attack rescue workers, but I could not believe it until I saw that the ambulance was completely destroyed. A few minutes later, Behnam, covered in blood, came towards us; but there was no news of Mojtaba. We were hoping to find Mojtaba, but about an hour later I saw several military personnel carrying a body, and a few minutes later they brought another body that was covered in a blanket. We realized that Mojtaba Maleki, our good friend who had been married for almost two or three years, had been martyred along with another aid worker named "Amir Hossein Jamshidpour." Those two bodies were the bodies of our forces who were taken from the scene. The entire team was in a very bad state, so they did not allow us to face the bodies, but then I heard that Mojtaba had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and chest. He had been seeking to complete the Red Crescent courses since he was a teenager. It had not been more than a few years since they started living together. They had imagined thousands of dreams for their future. His grieving wife says of Mojtaba's interest in volunteer work and helping others since his teenage years: Mojtaba decided to complete the Red Crescent courses since he was a teenager. As she herself said, when she was young and standing in line at the bakery to buy bread, an old woman suffered a cardiac arrest in front of her eyes. Since no one had the knowledge to save the lives of people in that critical situation, the old man lost his life. This painful incident prompted Mojtaba to go to learn the Red Crescent courses and receive the degree of sacrifice, which is the highest degree of Red Crescent training. Her wish was martyrdom. On the morning of June 16, 2018, Mojtaba Maleki set off on a mission like all the previous days; but her farewell that day was different from all the previous days. The young woman says about this: Almost 3 years had passed since Mojtaba and I were married. His wish was martyrdom and he always prayed in his qunut prayers that he would become a martyr, and in the end, he achieved his great wish. From the day the Israeli attack on our beloved Iran began, stress and anxiety came over me. I knew what goal my husband was pursuing, and that was why I was stressed. Because Mojtaba, during the promise of Sadeq II, said that we must raze Israel to the ground. He said that we must destroy global oppression and he believed that we had the power to do so. The last phone conversation of the wife of martyr Maleki regarding this incident and his martyrdom, she said: It was noon when I realized that Israel was going to attack several areas in Tehran, including the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation and Chitgar. I called my wife several times since morning and asked her to take care of herself. The wife of martyr Maleki continues with anger: The last time I called her was around 5:30 in the evening. It was clear that she was very busy. I emphasized to her once again to take care of herself. She said that we are ready and not to worry; whatever God wills, it will happen. I said goodbye to her but I did not know that I would not hear her voice again. I am a nurse and that day when my shift ended, I called my wife but someone else answered. The person who answered said that enemy missiles had attacked an area in Tehran and that they had conducted an operation. My wife and three ambulances were on their way to the location to provide relief. Apparently, the enemy was lying in wait for the rescue vehicles to arrive. Then, they directed the drone over the rescue vehicles and targeted them; defenseless and unarmed people who had gone to save the lives of their fellow villagers. The last selfie that remained is Hazrat Fard, one of the rescuers at the scene of the war, who was there when his colleagues were martyred and was himself injured. The depth of his voice shows that even remembering that moment is difficult for him. That moment will never be erased from this rescuer's mind. A moment full of passion and terrifying seconds as lives were lost one by one: I didn't understand what happened. I was all focused on finding Mehdi and Mojtaba, and we were so caught up in this story that we got away from the ambulance. At that moment, the ambulance hit us and we lost Mojtaba too. I was also caught in the blast wave. When I came to, I realized that my colleague was taking me to the ambulance to take me away from there. I immediately screamed and resisted. I wanted to go back to my colleagues. But they didn't let me. My ears couldn't hear anything. I felt bad. But I wanted to stay with the children. To go to Mojtaba. But they didn't let me and forcibly threw me into the ambulance and took me away. But all my thoughts were with the children. I still can't believe that my comrades are no more. Mojtaba had been saying from day one that, given the critical situation that had arisen, we must always stay with the people. All of us rescuers go on missions with love and our focus is on serving the people, but every time we went on missions to war scenes, we hugged each other, took souvenir photos, and said goodbye to each other, because martyrdom might be our last mission. From patience and tolerance to dignity Mojtaba was born on February 17, 1974; It was one day before the birth of Imam Hassan Mujtaba, and that is why we named him Mujtaba. Martyr Maleki's father says: He possessed the distinctive qualities of the blessed name of the second Imam of the Shiites. From patience and tolerance to exemplary dignity and calmness. It didn't matter what the crisis was. From a family challenge to relief and rescue operations; Mojtaba had a personality that always tried to resolve issues calmly and logically and make everyone happy in the end. Mojtaba had learned "kindness, humanity, and love for Iran" at home. Martyr Maleki's father says: He became a Red Crescent member around 2011, the same years we went to Natanz. His interest in these matters also goes back to his brother Mustafa's temporary presence in Red Crescent work. Of course, Mojtaba Maleki's father also cited the bakery queue incident and the main spark for learning first aid and joining the Red Crescent as the main motivation for his martyred son: He had a degree in electronics and was active in mobile phone repairs and installing CCTV cameras, but his main job was relief and rescue in the Red Crescent. In general, we had raised the children at home to help people at all times; even to the extent of pushing people's cars. Mojtaba had learned altruism, philanthropy, and love for Iran at home, and he sacrificed his life in the process. Now, Mojtaba's name is no longer just in reports and the names of martyrs; it is in the hearts of rescue workers who remember him with every siren; it is in the heart of a nurse who still sometimes calls her husband's phone, maybe she will hear a voice. It is in the eyes of a father who, when someone asks about "patience," smiles without saying a word and stares at his son's photo frame. Mojtaba Maleki achieved his dream; not with a gun, not with a slogan, but with a stretcher in his hand and a heart full of people's love. He was one of thousands of unassuming faces of this land who, with their sacrifice, rewrote the meaning of the homeland. Now, his name is not only engraved on a stone in the Martyrs' Garden, but in the history of this land; where they should write: "Here, a man gave his life to save humanity." According to IRNA, on the morning of Friday, June 13, with the beginning of the Zionist regime's terrorist attack on Tehran and a number of Iranian cities, a number of military commanders, scientists and civilians were martyred, and thus the imposed war began. According to the official announcement, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, Brigadier General Kazemi, Head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization, Brigadier General Ali Shadmani, Brigadier General Mohammad Saeed Izadi, Brigadier General Davoud Sheikhian, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Air Defense Force, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, Fereydoun Abbasi, Seyyed Amir Hossein Faqehi, Abdolhamid Minouchehr, Mohammad Reza Zolfaghari and Motlabizadeh (nuclear scientists) were among the prominent figures who were martyred in the Zionist regime's crime against our country. The United States also attacked the three nuclear facilities of Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan on Sunday morning (July 2). After 12 days of the enemy's aggression against our country and the crushing responses of the Iranian armed forces to its evils, the Zionist regime was forced to accept a ceasefire on Tuesday morning (July 22).
