Airwars assessment

In an incident previously unknown to Airwars, the Coalition reported in December 2016 that its aircraft had not been involved in a claimed event near Deyr ez Zawr seven months previously.

Reports for June 12th said that the area around the city’s airport, hospital and other neighbourhoods resulted in at leasdt one death and four injuries – though the attacks were variously blamed on Russia and the Assad regime. Deir Free named a woman victim as Amadour Abdulghafour Al Hattab. Syrian PC also named lawyer Faez Abdulbaki Al Jawad as having been killed.

The declassified documents were obtained by Azmat Khan and the New York Times through Freedom of Information requests and lawsuits filed since March 2017, and are included alongside the corresponding press release published by the Pentagon.
