Seven or more civilians were reported killed in an alleged Coalition airstrike at Ja’abar during fighting for control of the town.
According to LCCSY, “Civilian martyrs and wounded by the international coalition aircraft bombed on the outskirts of the village of #Ja’abar #Tabaqa city.”
According to the Syrian Network, “six civilians died in International Coalition warplanes missiles fired on Ja’bar village on Raqqa governorate western suburbs.” Al Jisr put the death toll at eight, while Zaman al Wasl said nine died. Syria News Desk cited a local activist as saying that “the raids led to the destruction of three houses and material damage to four other houses adjacent to the bombing site, in addition to the burning of a tractor and a civilian car and other physical damage to other property.”
The Coalition announced in February 2017 that the incident was being assessed. However it concluded on March 4th that “After a review of available information and/or strike video it was assessed that no civilians were harmed in the strikes conducted in this area on that day.”
