A mother and her daughter were killed and seven others were injured in airstrikes in Bokrus Tahtani in eastern Deir Ezzor, local sources reported, but it was contested who was responsible.
The victims were identified as a 34-year-old woman, who is the wife of Mohammed Abdullah al Kardoush, and their 16-year-old daughter. The couple is said to be originally from Tabaqa, according to Ahmed al Shibli.
Six of the ten sources who reported the incident alleged that the Coalition was responsible, whereas one source – the Syrian Network for Human Rights – alleged that the Syrian government was responsible. The three remaining sources did not make any allegations with respect to responsibility.
On June 28th 2018 the Coalition confirmed responsibility for the event, noting: “During a strike destroyed Daesh oil storage tanks, two civilians were unintentionally killed.”
The Coalition provided Airwars with the location of this incident, accurate to within a 100 metre box.

For June 24th-25th, the Coalition reported: “Near Dayr Az Zawr, six strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed three ISIS-held buildings, two command and control nodes, an ISIS staging area, a mortar system, a tactical vehicle, and an ISIS oil refinery.”
For June 25th-26th: “Near Dayr Az Zawr, three strikes destroyed six ISIS oil storage tanks, four ISIS pump jacks and two ISIS facilities.”
