Airwars assessment

Up to 15 civilians died in an alleged Coalition airstrike on Al Duaij, according to local media.

Al Khabour reported that “the international Coalition targeted a civilian car in the village of Al-Duaij in the town of Tal al-Jayr east of al-Shadadi, killing one civilian and wounding the others seriously.” Shaam News, Masar Press, Baladi and Syrian Press Center also blamed the Coalition.

Syria Press Center provided more detail, reporting that “the village of Al-Duaij in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah yesterday evening was subjected to air raids from the international coalition aircraft which resulted in a massacre that killed 15 martyrs and wounded civilians from the families of Al-Sinjar and Al-Azzou.”

Hasaka Rasd named the following as killed: “children of Majid al-Sinjar, Children of Fadel Al-Ezzo“.

According to Zaman al Wasl, “the activist Mohammed al-Khader told Zaman al-Wasl that 15 people were killed and wounded as a result of aerial bombardment of the village of Duaij east of the area of ​​Tel Shayerr near the border crossing of Tal Safouk”.

Huseein Mortada, also blaming the Coalition reported that 15 civilians were “killed and injured”.

Step News agency put the death toll at 15.

Reports of the incident mention the village of Duaij (الدعيج), for which the exact location is unknown. One source mentions that the strike hit an ambulance at the Rajim Al Salibi (ﺭﺟﻢ ﺍﻟﺼﻠﻴﺒﻲ) area/checkpoint (location unknown) in the vicinity or east of the village of Tel Shayer/Tall al-Jayer (تل الجاير), for which the coordinates are: 36.033926, 41.0987592. This is near the border crossing of Tel Safouk (تل الصفوك), for which the coordinates are: 36.059924, 41.255894. Based on these coordinates, we have assessed that the village of Duaij (الدعيج) could be located in the area marked in red below
