During the evening of 3 March 2026, four children was reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike on a house in the outskirts of the town of Daoudia, South Lebanon, while up to 15 people, including two Syrians, were injured.
Early reports stated that four people were trapped under the rubble, with later reports identifying those who had been trapped and missing, ultimately reporting that they had been killed.
According to @Leila Farhat, several of the victims belonged to the same family. In the evening of the attack, the Leila posted the following: “In the attack on the house on the outskirts of Daoudia, five people were inside: the mother, father, and one son, who was injured. Three other sons are still missing. One son survived as he was at the mosque.”
On March 5, Hoda Zbib wrote that “Mohammed, Ali, Hussein, and Mahdi Kawtharani, four children from my village of Tuffahta, were called out for play, not for news of an airstrike.” Hoda said the brothers were killed in the “Marwaniyeh-Dawoudiya airstrike two days ago.” As such, it is understood that Mohammed, Ali, Hussein, and Mahdi were likely members of the family that Leila referred to.
Images of Mohammed and Mahdi showed very young boys, toddlers; while images of Ali and Hussein showed slightly older boys, but still pre-teen in age.
Reports on injuries range from four to 15, though it is unclear if the reports of four injured may refer to the Kawtharani brothers, who were later found to have been killed.
A photo reportedly taken at the site of the attack, posted by @Bekaa News on Facebook at 7:38 p.m. local time, shows a largely destroyed building, with smoke or dust rising from a pile of rubble. Several people are seen combing through the site.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
