Two people, including policeman Ali Qassem Mazloum, were killed by an alleged Israeli double drone strike on the Zahle road on 5 March 2026. The other person remains unidentified; two other people, also unidentified, were reported injured.
The Lebanese Internal Security Forces commemorated Mazloum, a First Sergeant, and specified that he had been “heading to his service centre” in his car when he was killed. He had been married, and is survived by his wife and two children. Photographs shared show him in uniform.
@Yassine_Ahmad1 claimed that a “Hezbollah security figure” had been killed and that two missiles had been deployed to “confirm the terrifying accuracy.” No sources claimed Mazloum had Hezbollah ties; it is possible, though not definitive, that this reference was in regards to the other person killed. However, it is possible that reference to Hezbollah may stem from the Ali Mazloum’s police work, as Hezbollah is heavily embedded in the region.
A video shared by PalinfoAr shows two men standing on the side of a road when a car rolls into a trash bin. The car is on fire and has clearly been struck, with everything behind the windshield completely burnt out. One of the men grabs the other’s arm and runs away from the car. The second man stays for a moment longer before backing away. Then a second strike hits the car. It is possible that the two reported injuries were the men who were in close proximity to the car when it was struck the second time.
@BlinxNow reported that, with the strike, the car was “literally melted.” Video from the strike confirm the damage.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all pointed to the Israeli military.
