An alleged International Coalition and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) counter-terrorism raid operation arrested five people, including a child, in supposed association with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in the village of al-Huseiniya, east of al-Hasakah, on January 1st 2023. There are currently no reports of civilian or belligerent harm or death.

There were multiple reports that one of the arrested was a child, but no further details regarding the child have been released.

Multiple sources corroborate that four of the militants were released a few hours after their arrest. They have been named as Sheikh Saleh al-Karbo, Abdul Razzaq al-Karbo, Khaled al-Hussein and Abdul Moneim al-Juwair. The sources did not specify whether one of the four released was the child, but on January 12th 2023 Furt Sy News reported that the child was still imprisoned.
