Airwars assessment
One civilian, named as Nidal Juma’a, died in an alleged Coalition raid on the village of Al Nawaja, according to local sources.
Manbij is Mother of The World did not say who was responsible for the raid, but reported: “the citizen Nidal Juma’a al Sam’o from the village of al Nawaja in the eastern Manbij countryside was martyred when a plane targeted an IS checkpoint there. He was approaching the village on foot, passing by the checkpoint, when the plane struck and he was killed on the spot.”
However, Halab News and Halab Today TV reported that Nidal Juma’a died died when the Coalition bombed the village.
In the second of their March 2020 civilian casualty reports, the US-led Coalition assessed reports that they were responsible for civilian harm in this strike as “non-credible”, stating that no Coalition actions were conducted in the geographical area at that time.

For June 15th-16th, the Coalition reported: “Near Manbij, six strikes struck five separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed three ISIL fighting positions, an ISIL vehicle, and six ISIL command and control nodes.”
