Airwars Assessment
On the morning of February 28, 2026, one source reported that a man was reportedly injured as the result of an alleged Iranian missile attack which hit the town of Umm al-Fahm in Israel. The name of the victim was not found among local sources.
Posting to Facebook at 12:46 PM local time, Our Town, whose post was recirculated by Khamis Mohammed Abdullah, Media City, and Tantoura News reported that “A disaster almost occurred after rocket fragments exploded in the Rouha area near Umm al-Fahm, but by the grace of God, an elderly man who was near the impact site was unharmed.” The posts included images showing munition remnants in a yard, as well as a sedan whose windshield appears to have been struck by shrapnel.
This report matched the scenario described by Ynet News in which a man was “lightly wounded by shrapnel that fell into the yard of a home” after Iran launched an unknown number of missiles toward Israel that morning. As this was the only source that reported on civilian harm occurring in Umm al-Fahm at this time, and contradics the reports from Our Town, this incident’s civilian harm status has been recorded as “weak” and the injury range matched to this incident has been recorded as zero to one. This will be updated should additional information become available.
A video posted at 11:29 a.m. the same day by @AlQastalps shows thick black smoke rising from the horizon at a distance, with the caption describing it as a fire near Umm al-Fahm resulting from Iranian strikes.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Iranian military.
