Airwars Assessment

Last Updated: January 30, 2025

On October 1, 2024, an alleged Israeli airstrike hit an emergency ambulance centre in the town of Mashaghara, in West Beqaa, Lebanon, reportedly killing eight people.

Though the incident was reported by multiple news sources and social media users, Mashghara Moons News posted to Facebook that there was “no truth” to the information about the raid, but provided no clarifications as to what information was incorrect. Therefore, the civilian death toll has been recorded as 0-8 to account for the uncertainty.

The names of the people who were killed are not known at the moment of assessing the incident.

Where sources identified the belligerent, only one source, Khabar24 news, attributed the strike to the Israeli military. Therefore, Airwars graded the strike status as a “single source claim”. The sources which reported on the civilian harm repeated information, therefore the civilian harm status was graded as “weak.”
