On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, between four and seven people were reportedly killed and 38 others injured following alleged Israeli strikes on the Baalbek-al-Hermel region in eastern Lebanon.
MTV reported that 4 people were killed and 38 wounded in “successive Israeli raids,” citing a statement from the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health. Al-Jazeera Egypt initially reported the same toll but later updated it to 7 fatalities, based on information from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Names and other identifying information was not made publicly available, nor was information regarding the severity of the injuries.
An image released by Al-Jazeera Egypt shows a large plume of dark smoke rising in the distance, likely from an explosion in a rural area.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to Israeli forces.
