The homes of my brothers and neighbors, the Abu Jbara family (11 martyrs) and the Abu Lashin family (16 martyrs), were destroyed. My brothers are still trapped under the rubble. Many of my relatives were injured in this Zionist massacre, one in a series of massacres against our people. My brother Nael al-Durrah and his wife were martyred, as were my brother Iyad al-Durrah and his 13-year-old daughter Aryam. My family, my son's wife and her mother, her sisters and brothers, and my grandchildren were injured. We escaped by the grace of God.

The name of the Palestinian martyr Muhammad al-Durrah topped Google search trends in recent hours after his father lost his brother in the ongoing events in Palestine. Jamal al-Durrah, the father of the late child Muhammad al-Durrah, bid farewell to his two brothers, Nael and Iyad, who were killed on Sunday as a result of Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip. This comes 23 years after his son Muhammad was killed by Israeli army fire during the Second Intifada in 2000. A video circulated showing al-Durrah sitting beside the bodies, praying for mercy for his brothers and all the martyrs. He addressed them, saying, "Reserve a place for me beside you," and prayed to God to grant him patience in his grief. Social media users recirculated a photo of Jamal al-Durrah with his son Muhammad, in which he was crying out, "The boy is dead," after being targeted by Israeli forces, alongside a photo of him today, urging people to "remember these two images well." Jamal al-Durrah recounts the details of what happened to his family and the martyrdom of some of its members, saying: "Last Friday, specifically during the dawn prayer, I was at home with my wife, children, and grandchildren when suddenly we heard loud explosions that shook the ground. We felt as if an earthquake was striking the Gaza Strip. We saw neighbors running out of their homes. To be precise, those who managed to escape their homes went out into the alley." The al-Durrah family did not escape the Israeli occupation's bombing. Two of Jamal's brothers, Nael and his wife, and Iyad and his only daughter, were martyred. Muhammad's father and his family miraculously survived. Jamal al-Durrah says: "We managed to leave the house, and after three days of continuous attempts, we recovered the bodies of Nael and Iyad. By what law in the world are the elderly and women killed, medicine, water, and electricity denied, and people forcibly displaced and bombed from their homes?!"
