(Previous Incident Code: ISIR260401c )
Around noon on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at least three alleged Israeli and/or US airstrikes hit the Sefid Dasht Steel Complex in Borujen, in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province of Iran, reportedly injuring up to two employees.
Reports of civilian harm resulting from the incident varied. According to the Head of the Borujen Fire Department, the attack on the plant resulted in two injuries, and by 10 a.m. the next day, the fire was extinguished. However, Borna News reported that “at Sefid Dasht Steel, fortunately, none of the employees were injured and all are in good health.”
Sources also differed on the time at which the strikes took place. While @Qandil Press alleged on Twitter/X that the plant was hit by three strikes at around 12:09 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, Vahid Online claimed on Telegram that the strikes happened at 11:09 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31. According to this source, the Red Crescent and the fire department were not allowed to enter the factory until 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Both Qandil Press and Vahid Online shared a video showing fires raging in the darkness.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli and US military.
