(Previous Incident Code: R2711)

A child was injured when two alleged Russian warplanes struck Khan Shekhoun, according to local media. All sources reported that Russia was to blame, except @SyriaCivilDefe who tweeted that unknown warplanes were to blame.

There were no reports of civilian deaths.

According to @SyriaCivilDefe “cluster bombs and rockets containing incendiary materials” were used on the vicinity. Photos were also published in the aftermath with an image of the shell and the burning crater formed in the aftermath of the raid.

One source reported that “A child and his father were killed by the bombing of warplanes (believed to be Russian) on the town of Khan Sheikhan in rural Idlib.” Researchers and assessors at Airwars believe this tweet was referring to the child and father killed in Saraqeb – see incident R2710.

There are no other details at this time.
