Airwars assessment
A man was killed and a child was injured in an artillery attack allegedly perpetrated by the Turkish military on a chicken (poultry) farm in the Al-Taana village located in the Shahba area, north of Aleppo, Syria, after midnight on Thursday, February 28th, 2024.
Youssef Adnan al-Khader/al-Hayek/Mawas, a 30-year-old man resident of the village, lost his life in the attack. In a photo shared by multiple sources, he can be seen wearing a gray hoodie with black short hair.
Abdul Rahman al-Khader/al-Hayek/Mawas, a 16-year-old boy, received varying injuries and was subsequently taken to the Afrin hospital in the Fanfin District. Various pictures show his bandaged belly and his body connected to multiple medical devices.
Although the sources clearly reported the same victims, they used different surnames, including “Al-Khader”, “Al-Hayek”, or “Al-Khader Mawas”. Therefore, all three surnames will be indicated in the report until further information comes to light.
The bombing happened approximately at 2:00 a.m. while the men and the kid were at a chicken poultry farm. The farm sustained minimal material damage, but all the chickens died inside. The images shared by ANF news showed the damaged fence and dozens of dead chickens’ bodies lying on the ground.
According to the sources, the Turkish military was identified as being responsible for the attack
