On Thursday evening of May 2, 2024, a civilian man named Ahmad al-Ali was injured as a result of an artillery strike allegedly carried out by the Turkish military in the al-Sayadah village in the northwestern countryside of the city of Manbij which is located in the Aleppo governorate, in northern Syria.
20-year-old Ahmad al-Ali was taken to the al-Furat hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, according to multiple sources such as ANF News. A picture of Ahmad shared by multiple sources, such as Hawar News, showed him with a bandage on his right arm.
Hawar News shared a video of Ahmad where he was talking about the circumstances of his injury: “Turkish bombs targeted us in al-Sayadah village killing many animals and I was injured by bomb fragments. My uncle took me to the hospital in al-Sayadah for treatment,” said Ahmed.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the area where the strike occurred is controlled by the Manbij Military Council. The artillery strikes were allegedly carried out by the Turkish military forces, according to multiple sources such as SOHR.
According to the sources, property belonging to residents of al-Sayadah was damaged and livestock was also lost as a result of the strike. Hawar News shared graphic images of the killed animals.
