Haitham Abdul Rahman Issa, a 42-year-old civilian man, was killed, and a number of civilians were injured in an alleged Turkish artillery shelling on the afternoon of  November 19, 2024, in Aqiba village in the Shirawa district of the city of Afrin in the countryside of Aleppo, Syria. The attack was widely attributed to Turkish military forces and their allied mercenaries, according to multiple sources, including ANF news, VDC, Hawar news, and Fox press.

According to the sources, Haitham Abdul Rahman Issa succumbed to his injuries on the evening of the same day. VDC reported that a number of civilians also sustained injuries as a result of the heavy artillery attack. The shelling also caused significant material damage to the villagers’ property, which increased their suffering in light of the current situation.

Hawar news shared a picture of the event. The image depicted a close-up view of an injured individual receiving emergency medical treatment. The focus was on the lower torso, where medical personnel, wearing gloves, appeared to be treating a severe wound. A surgical instrument or medical tubing was inserted into the body, possibly as part of an effort to address internal injuries or provide life-saving intervention.
