Aleppo Governorate: Two journalists were killed and a driver was injured when a Turkish drone targeted their vehicle shortly after midnight on Thursday-Friday. The attack occurred on the road between the Tishrin Dam and the town of Sarrin in the southern countryside of Ain al-Arab (Kobani), east of Aleppo. The journalists were covering the situation in the area when they were directly targeted by the drone. This incident comes amid escalating Turkish attacks on areas of northern and eastern Syria, raising serious concerns about the targeting of journalists and civilians in these military operations. This brings the total number of airstrikes carried out by Turkish Air Force drones on areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria since the beginning of 2024 to 213. These strikes have resulted in the deaths of 93 people, in addition to injuries to more than 56 military personnel and 80 civilians, including 6 women and 5 children. The fatalities include: - 52 members of the military forces operating within the Autonomous Administration areas. - 18 members of the regime forces. - 23 civilians, including one woman, 8 children, and two journalists. The attacks were distributed as follows: – 143 attacks on Hasakah, resulting in the deaths of 3 regime forces, 24 military personnel, and 8 civilians, including one woman. – 13 attacks on Raqqa, resulting in the deaths of 19 military personnel and 8 civilians, including 6 children. – 57 attacks on the Aleppo countryside, resulting in the deaths of 24 military personnel and 7 civilians, including one child and two journalists.

Over the past years, a large number of journalists, media professionals, and media workers in North and East Syria have been martyred as a result of the Turkish occupation's crimes and treacherous targeting operations. Meanwhile, there has been no serious response from the international community, the United Nations, or organizations protecting journalists, despite the fact that targeting media workers constitutes a war crime under international law.

استشهدت مراسلة وكالة أنباء هاوار جيهان بلكين والصحفي ناظم داشتان باستهداف غادر لمسيرة تابعة للاحتلال التركي يوم أمس الخميس، على الطريق الواصل بين صرين وسد تشرين جنوب كوباني، وذلك بعد سنوات من نضالهما في نقل الحقيقة وفضح ممارسات وجرائم الاحتلال التركي. في جريمة جديدة تضاف لسلسلة جرائم الاحتلال التركي بحق الشعب الكردي وشعوب إقليم شمال وشرق سوريا، وتعمد استهداف الصحفيين والإعلاميين بالدرجة الأولى لقطع الطريق أمام فضح سياساتها وأجنداتها الاستعمارية أمام الرأي العام. ومع استمرار تصعيدها العسكري على المنطقة، مستغلة حالة الفوضى التي حصلت في البلاد بعد سقوط نظام البعث، قصفت مسيرات الغدر التركية سيارة تقل صحفيين على الطريق الواصل بين صرين وسد تشرين، وعلى إثر ذلك استشهدت مراسلة وكالة هاوار جيهان بلكين والصحفي ناظم دشتان كما أصيب المواطن عزيز حاج بوزان بجروح. استشهاد مراسلة وكالة هاوار جيهان بيلجين والصحفي ناظم داشتان باستهداف للاحتلال جنوب كوباني أصدقاؤنا الصحفيان جيهان بليكن وناظم دشتان يعملان كصحفيين في المنطقة منذ بداية هجمات الاحتلال التركي في الـ 8 من كانون الأول وهم يتابعون هجمات الاحتلال التركي ومرتزقته ومقاومة الشعوب والمقاتلين العسكريين في سد تشرين وجسر قره قوزاق. زميلنا ناظم قبل استشهاده: الاحتلال التركي يشن حرباً إعلامية والحقائق على الأرض تزيف كلامهم وظهر زميلنا ناظم يوم أمس على شاشة فضائيتنا قبل استشهاده، وقال إن الاحتلال التركي يخوض حرباً خاصة وأن كلامهم والحقائق على الأرض ليست واحدة. زميلتنا جيهان قبل استشهادها أكدت على المقاومة البطولية في سد تشرين وجسر قره قوزاق كما تحدثت زميلتنا جيهان عبر شاشتنا ولفتت الانتباه إلى المقاومة الكبيرة التي تبدى في سد تشرين وجسر قره قوزاق، وأن مسيرات الاحتلال تحلق بشكل كبير في سماء المنطقة، وبالتزامن مع ذلك لفتت الانتباه إلى الحرب الإعلامية الشرسة التي يشنها المحتل على المنطقة. فضح سياسات ومخططات الاحتلال من قبل زملائنا الشهيدين كان السبب وراء استهدافهم ويبدو أن فضح سياسات ومخططات الاحتلال التركي من قبل زملائنا هو السبب الرئيسي لاستهدافهم يوم أمس. وخلال السنوات الماضية، ارتقى عدد كبير من الصحفيين والإعلاميين والعاملين في المجال الإعلامي في إقليم شمال وشرق سوريا إلى مرتبة الشهادة جراء إجرام الاحتلال التركي وعمليات استهدافه الغادرة، بينما لم يكن هناك أي موقف جدي من قبل المجتمع الدولي والأمم المتحدة ومنظمات حماية الصحفيين، على الرغم من أن استهداف العاملين في المجال الإعلامي بالقانون الدولي يعد جريمة حرب.
