On Thursday, 9 January 2025, a young woman was injured by an alleged Turkish drone strike which hit the village of Ilajagh in the western countryside of Kobani, northern Syria.

Mohammed Saleh Ibrahim, from the village of Ilajagh, told NPA News that “Samira Hussein Abdi (20 years old) was transferred to Kobani Hospital for treatment after being injured by shrapnel as a result of a drone bombing near her” and that she was in stable condition. In addition to the drone strike, a total of four shells fell on the village, “causing material damage to one of the village’s houses and damage to a car belonging to one of the village’s residents”.

ANF News also mentioned that the village of Ilajagh, among other villages, was bombed by the Turkish military.
