Two civilians were reportedly killed and another injured in an alleged Turkish drone strike on a civilian car in the village of Khana Sari, in the countryside of the city of Derik in al-Jazeera canton in the al-Hasakah governorate of northeastern Syria, on the evening of Friday, 10 January 2025.

Multiple local news sources, referring to the statement of the Internal Security Forces, reported that the civilians were killed when a drone hit the civilian car they were in, reportedly a Hyundai Vera Cruz. The injured civilian was reportedly hit by shrapnel in his foot, after which he was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment. Other biographical information relating to the civilians, such as age or name, was not provided.

A local Facebook page (Rojava) reported the attack as having taken place in the evening, and uploaded footage which appeared to show the aftermath of the strike. People are shown moving near a heavily damaged car with two of its doors missing and substantial damage to the bonnet.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Turkish military.
