Two civilians, including one or two women, were injured by shrapnel and six militants of non-Syrian nationality were killed in an airstrike reportedly perpetrated by the Israeli military and/or US-led Coalition shortly before 11:36 PM on Monday, October 2nd, 2023, in the Al-Humaidah area near the Al-Hari village and the city of Al-Bukamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
The two women were hit by shrapnel and were reportedly taken by ambulances for treatment as reported by Twitter/X user Naher Media at 11:36 PM. Twitter/X user @DeirEzzore reported that the injured in Al-Bukamal city were a civilian and his wife. However, other sources have not confirmed this information.
Furthermore, multiple photos and a video posted by Twitter/X user @daraa_net_2020 and Facebook account Euphrates Post showed a bridge in the Al-Hari village destroyed. Additional material damage included the house of citizen Abdullah Al-Adai located near the Al-Sikka crossing. A video of the bombardment was shared too.
According to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (SOHR), the Deir Ezzor Governorate declared that six militants were killed in an airstrike likely carried out by Israeli forces.
@DeirEzzore’s Twitter/X account alleged that members of the Revolutionary Guard militia (Iranian militia) were injured and were transported by two ambulance vehicles. SANA news reported that two members of the Syrian armed forces were injured.
According to multiple sources, the attack was aimed at targeting Iranian militia positions in the Al-Humaidah area on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
The sources held the Israeli military primarily responsible for the attack, although the Facebook users Mustafa Baqi and Mazloum Kobani have alleged that US-led Coalition aircraft were also involved.
The incident occured at approximately 11:36 pm local time.
