Local sources reported that the campaign targeted a number of civilians, amidst a state of tension and public discontent due to the night raids and arbitrary arrests that have become increasingly frequent in the northern Raqqa countryside, without any clear reasons being given or charges being brought against those arrested. This campaign comes amidst a recent escalation of security measures in SDF-controlled areas, coinciding with intensified activity by the international coalition throughout northeastern Syria.
