Airwars assessment
Five civilians including two children and a woman died and as many as dozens more were wounded in an airstrike on a camp for displaced persons in the Jleib Ghanem area, Al Qouriya desert, according to local media.
Most sources blamed Russia, though @basher_811 pointed to the Coalition,, reporting: “5 martyrs and a number of casualties as a result of the international coalition aircraft targeting a camp for displaced people from the city of Qouriya in the area of Jleib Ghanem desert DeirEzzor”.
Sharqiya Voice added that “dozens” were wounded, though others sources put the number at seven or nine.
In the first of their September 2020 civilian casualty reports, the US-led Coalition assessed reports that they were responsible for civilian harm in this strike as “non-credible”, stating that no Coalition actions were conducted in the geographical area at that time.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
