Shortly before 8:23 AM on Saturday, 27 April 2024 a young man, identified as Abdullah Rammah, was seriously injured while working on his land, as a result of an alleged artillery or drone attack by the Syrian regime and/or the Iranian military and/or the Russian military on the eastern outskirts of the city of Atareb, west of Aleppo, Syria. Most of the sources mentioned that several civilians were injured, but there was no information on the identities of other victims.

Facebook user “Editor moment by moment” shared a video on April 27th of a rural location where the sound of an explosion is audible and the smoke seemingly resulting from an explosion is visible. The same user also shared a picture showing several brown clouds of smoke and dirt, seemingly resulting from various explosions.

At 8:23 AM Twitter/X user @Ahmad_1alshble shared on the platform pictures showing clouds of smoke in a rural area. The pictures are accompanied by the following: “Several civilian casualties occurred as a result of missile and artillery shelling.”

Sources were conflicted about the responsibility of the attack. Twitter/X user @NN123paljeru as well as Facebook users Muhammad Al-Adlabi, Al-Shahba News, Editor moment by moment reported the Iranian military as responsible for the strike. Facebook users Saroti Halabi and “Editor moment by moment” reported both the Iranian and the Russian military as responsible. All the other sources, when they identified the belligerent, referred to the Syrian regime forces as responsible for the attack.

Moreover, “Editor moment by moment” identified the nature of the attack also as a drone strike, notably “5 suicide planes of #Iranian militias target the #Al-Qasr and #Mediation axis, east of the city of #Atareb, west of #Aleppo, and there are no reports of casualties so far.”
