Idlib Governorate: The International Coalition carried out a precision airdrop operation at dawn today in the Atmeh camps, north of Idlib, targeting a house where a prominent first-rank ISIS leader known as "Abu Hafs al-Qurashi" was hiding. Several helicopters took off from the Sarrin Airport in the Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) countryside. Special forces were deployed heavily in the surrounding streets, while General Security forces imposed a security cordon around the area. The attacking forces opened fire and imposed strict security measures on residents near the targeted site. The attacking forces were able to seize control of the area and arrest the leader. The fate of the women of non-Syrian nationalities who were with him is unknown, whether they were arrested by General Security or the International Coalition. Local sources also reported that General Security removed a body from the targeted site after the operation, which lasted approximately an hour and a half, before the aircraft departed the area. Abu Hafs al-Qurashi is known to be of Iraqi nationality and is considered one of the most prominent figures active within the organization, having been tasked with recruiting foreign fighters and facilitating their movements within Syria.

A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that a US special forces operation carried out at dawn on Wednesday in northwestern Syria resulted in the death of a prominent ISIS leader who was considered a potential candidate to lead the organization in Syria. قال مسؤول أميركي رفض الكشف عن اسمه إن قوة خاصة أميركية نفذت عملية عسكرية فجر الأربعاء في شمال غربي سوريا، أسفرت عن مقتل قيادي بارز في تنظيم الدولة "داعش" كان يُنظر إليه كأحد المرشحين لقيادة التنظيم في سوريا، وأكد المسؤول لوكالة "رويترز" أن العملية انتهت دون تسجيل أي إصابات بين الجنود الأميركيين. ووفق مصادر أمنية سورية، فقد قُتل القيادي أثناء محاولته الفرار من موقع العملية، وأوضح مصدر أمني آخر أن المستهدف يحمل الجنسية العراقية ومتزوج من امرأة فرنسية، لافتاً إلى أن مصيرها ما يزال مجهولاً حتى اللحظة. وأضافت المصادر أن العملية بدأت حوالي الساعة الثانية فجراً في بلدة أطمة بريف إدلب، حيث وفرت مروحيات وطائرات مسيرة غطاء جوياً للقوات الأميركية، بينما قامت قوات محلية بتطويق المنطقة، قبل أن تبدأ المداهمة المباشرة.
