Airwars assessment
On Sunday, April 28th, 2024, two civilian men, Ahmed Haidari and Rasoul Yunus, were killed and one civilian was reportedly injured in an airstrike allegedly perpetrated by Turkish aircraft in the Bradost mountains located in the east of the Erbil Governorate, Iraq.
According to the American CPT organization quoted by the Kurdistan Revolution in Arabic Facebook account, the Kurdish men, originally coming from Mahabad, were working in the mountain to collect spring herbs when the strike happened. The bodies of both were found later on.
The Instagram account @Kurdistanipeopleii also informed that one more person was injured, but the identity had not been confirmed yet. According to this account, the bodies of the victims have been returned to their home town in East Kurdistan.
Ahmed Haidari, the father of one child, was a middle-aged man with a clear skin tone, straight short hair, thick eyebrows, small eyes, thin lips, cleft chin, and no beard. In the photo posted, he was wearing a black t-shirt under a brown long-sleeve shirt and a black jacket with pockets.
Rasoul Yunus, the father of three children, was a middle-aged man too, with an average complexion, straight short hair, clear skin tone, thick black eyebrows, small eyes, and a thick black mustache. He was wearing a white shirt under a gray long-sleeved jacket and a black jacket.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the responsibility for the attack to the Turkish military.
