On the morning of Thursday, the 2nd November 2023, four farmers were reportedly killed and a number of civilians were injured when an alleged Israeli strike hit the Sufa and/or Al-Amour area east of Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip.
At 11:03 am the Palestinian press agency Safa reported injuries after a bombing hit a group of farmers in the Al-Amour area, east of Khan Younis. Later that day Safa reported that the four farmers recovered from the incident had been killed. The victims have not yet been identified. This assessment will be updated if more specific information becomes available.
However, some sources, including the journalist Adel Zourub and Msdr News, reported a different area where the bodies were found, namely the Sufa area.
Msdr News reported that the civilians were transferred to the European Hospital shortly after the attack but did not survive the incident. This was then corroborated by several other news outlets and social media users.
While only one source, journalist Adel Zaarab (and repeated by other local sources), attributed the attack to the Israeli forces, multiple sources refer to “bombing”, indicating that Israel was responsible. Therefore, this incident has been graded as a “likely strike”.
The incident occured in the morning.
