Airwars assessment
On June 21st 2024, civilians were killed and at least three civilians were injured, including two children – one of which was an infant, following an alleged Israeli artillery strike on a house in the new camp, west of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Al-Jazeera posted a video to their Facebook page that showed two children receiving medical attention from hospital staff. It also showed an adult male being carried on a stretcher into a hospital following the alleged artillery strike. Jaafar Al-Tayyar also posted a video to Facebook that showed a seriously injured infant, with cuts on their face, being carried by medical staff through a hospital to receive medical treatment. As it is unclear if this is the same as the two children mentioned by other sources, the casualty range has been put at minimum of two and maximum of three children injured.
Only one source, @PalTodayBRK, mentioned “martyrs” in addition to the wounded, which Airwars has estimated at minimum to be mean two fatalities. This will be updated should more information come to light.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
