Airwars assessment

One civilian was reported killed and several others injured by LNA shelling on the Qerqarish neighbourhood of Tripoli. It later turned out the actual cause was a gas explosion.

Hona Souq Al-Khmies posted: “Our confirmed outcome for Qargarsh now:

The death of Ramadan Qurbaj.

His brother’s injury.

An Egyptian worker was injured.”

The Libya Observer tweeted: “One person killed, others wounded in a rocket attack by warlord Haftar’s armed groups on #Tripoli’s densely-populated Qarqarish district, medical sources say.”

Desert Rose later responded to a tweet mentioning the incident: “It was a gas cylinder that exploded ! Either leakage or filling up of gas cylinder! Not any darn missile Alhamdulilah..”

Wolfram Lacher said: “Deleted tweet re: reported shelling on Gargaresh as it appears it was a gas explosion. Indiscriminate shelling on Abu Slim continues.”

The local time of the incident is unknown.

Airwars assessment

A single source, Libya in Heart, reported that “nearly 20 people” died in alleged LNA airstrike in Sirte but did not specify if they were civilians.

According to the source, Nearly 20 people were killed in the bombing of the Sirte air force in Libya. Eyewitnesses confirmed that ambulances were being heard heavily.

After further review, we noticed a translation error in the source. The people mentioned are in fact Libya Dawn fighters and will be reflected as combatants in our data because of that.

The local time of the incident is unknown.
