Airwars assessment
At around 7 pm on November 6, 2023, three female civilians, including an elderly woman and a girl, were killed, and “dozens” were wounded following an alleged Israeli bombardment on the Aliwa family residence in the Zaytoun neighbourhood of Gaza City.
Airwars has identified the likely names of the women killed among those listed in the third Ministry of Health list of fatalities released on April 1st, 2024 based on matches with familial names and via Shireen Monitor, a Palestinian organisation documenting names of civilians killed, which listed the date of death of the women as November 3th. According to these lists, the three women killed were potentially Nourhan Fadl Saeed Aliwa (17 years old) who was from Gaza Governorate, “the elderly martyr” Faiza Saeed Hamed Aliwa who was 66 years old, and Tahrir Khalil Saeed Aliwa who was 32 years old.
Sources claimed that “dozens” of injuries resulted from the strike, though none provided an exact toll. The details of those injured, and information relating to the severity of those injuries are unknown. Due to the circularity of reporting – with all subsequent sources repeating the initial source – this has been graded as a single source claim.
Where these sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
The incident occured at approximately 7:00 pm local time.
The victims were named as:
