Airwars assessment
At dawn on 6th November 2023, at least four identified civilians, including an elderly woman with her son and her two grandchildren, were killed, and a number of civilians were injured in an alleged Israeli bombing on the Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital located in Al-Nasr neighborhood in Gaza City.
@Almaghariba_tv also shared via X/ Twitter that multiple hospitals had been hit by airstrikes, including the Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital, Al-Rantisi Hospital, and the Mental Health and Eye Hospitals, injuring over 125 of “medical staff, patients and displaced persons”.
Social media tributes by family and friends helped Airwars’ researchers to identify the names of four victims of the strike on the Al-Nasr Hospital.
Ayman Sy posted to Facebook to mourn his wife’s aunt, 66-year-old Rehab Muhammad Youssef Al-Zaim (Al-Sheikh) who was killed alongside her 43-year-old son, Walid Nasr Al-Zaim and her two grandchildren, Walid’s children – six-year-old son Nasr Walid Nasr Al-Zaim and 13-year-old daughter Rehab Walid Nasr Al-Zaim.
Twitter/X user @abulhafi mentioned that two girls had been killed and there were injuries in the strike at Al-Nasr hospital. As the identified names included only one girl, the total death toll could be five.
Roaa Omar described her aunt, Rahab, as “kind-hearted” and a “beautiful soul”, and also “Smiling, laughing despite all circumstances, servant, and compassionate.”
In a tribute to his deceased cousin, Eyad Khalel Zaeem posted to Facebook to share an image of a middle-aged man crouched down with two young boys, one of which wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh. The man in the image matched the man in the image shared by Hisham Al-Zaeem.
The names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health list of fatalities in Gaza released on January 10, 2024.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
