Four civilians including three from the same family were reported injured in Israeli airstrikes that targeted many locations in Damascus – Syria on November 19th, 2019 according to local sources. The strikes hit sites in Al Kiswah, Sa’asa’a area, Al Mazzeh airbase, Jdaydet Artouz, Qudsaya suburb, and the surrounding Sahnaya south and southwest of the capital Damascus.
The attacks targeted military sites of the Iranian Quds Forces and the Syrian regime. It is also believed that the strikes killed 21 soldiers and military officers including at least eight Iranians and five Syrians.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SoHR) reported that a “young woman was injured by shrapnel due to the Israeli shelling in Qudsaya suburb, also a family including a man, his wife, and son were pulled from the rubble of their house in Beit Sabir village in Sa’asa’a area after one of the Israeli missiles hit the house.”
Israel declared the strikes twice, first through its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who said that the strike carried out by the Israeli air force at dawn Wednesday in Syria, targeted Iranian military installations, and was in response to what he described as the ‘bombing of Israel’.
