Airwars assessment

One civilian, a child, was killed and two other civilians, children, were injured in alleged Russian or regime strikes on Inkhil on July 29, 2021.

Ikhwan Online reported that the bombing of Inkhil “resulted in the injury of two children”. Horrya specified that the injuries of the children were to varying degrees and Dara`a 24 added that “the two children’s injuries are not serious, and their wounds were treated in a medical clinic in the city”.

@Daraa24_24 pointed out that the injuries to the children occurred when a mortar shell fell on their home.

According to Nabaa News, at 5:27pm, “a child was killed in the city of Inkhil” and was the only source that reported that a death occurred.

The majority of sources attributed the strikes to the regime and Resala Post specifically identified “positions in the 15th Brigade” of the regime forces as being responsible for the mortar shelling. However, Syrian Civil Defense identified both Russia and the regime as having carried out strikes in Dara’a.

The incident occured at 17:27:00 local time.

A tweet from @7WE4UNp8FButyw4 identified the shells used as laser-guided, along with various other sources.

Sources were conflicted as to who was responsible, with multiple sources attributing the strikes to both Russia and the regime while @mzmgr941pointed out that both Russian and Iranian reconnaissance planes were flying close by.

Aerial and artillery shelling of Kafr Batna, eastern Ghouta, Damascus, wounded two civilians, one woman and one child, local media reported.

According to multiple sources, at least one woman and one child were wounded in what Jsirtv described as “heavy air bombardment hit residential neighbourhoods in Kafr Batna.” Reportedly, the strikes hit a popular market, as noted by Abu Alhuda.

Several sources mentioned both aerial and artillery shelling. Shaam News Network, for example, reported  “heavy air raids accompanied by the shelling with rockets and heavy artillery shells”.

Only a few sources apportioned blame, and those who did were conflicting. Both HalabTodayTV and Masar Press Net pointed to the Syrian regime, while LCCSY indicated that Russia was responsible.

The local time of the incident is unknown.

Between three and four civilians sustained minor wounds in alleged Israeli airstrikes and drone strikes on Al Arnab Street in Khan Younis on May 12, 2021.

@AlWatenGaza reported that four civilians were injured in strikes on Al Arnab Street in Khan Younis. A tweet from @hudaa23914 added that the injuries were minor and that they were taken to Nasser Medical Hospital.

Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) provided that three civilians sustained minor wounds from the shattered rubble caused by strikes.

Images posted by Alam Sadeq on Facebook show two different young men being treated at the hospital and one of them had a bandage wrapped around his head.

A tweet from @mousa_alkafarna identified Al Rahma Association as the target of the strikes while other sources identified a house as being struck. PCHR gave additional details that “at approximately 04:50 on Wednesday, 12 May 2021, Israeli warplanes launched 3 missiles at 2 houses belonging to Mohammed ‘Abdel Salam al-Yazouri and Rafe’a Salah ‘Odah Salamah, who are both members of Palestinian armed groups, on al-Arnab Street in the western side of the city and completely destroyed them.”

PCHR reported that both drone strikes and airstrikes were launched in the area and that an hour before the strikes, “one of the area residents received a call from the IOF ordering him to tell the residents to leave their houses”.

An IDF statement on May 12th stated: “A short while ago, the IDF struck an additional Hamas internal security apparatus building, in Khan Yunis, used for counterintelligence. The IDF is continuing to strike terror targets in the Gaza Strip”. No further information was provided so it is unclear at ths time if this statement relates specifically to this event.
