Almanara wrote that LNA forces were being shelled with heavy artillery in the area.

TD.Tarhuna said two houses were destroyed by a Turkish aircraft but did not mention civilian harm.

Tarhuna 24 reported: “A military aircraft bombing the home of the Aoun family next to Shell Khanoura resulted in the injury of the citizen Abdel Wahab Salem and he was transferred to the hospital.”

The same outlet later said that Abdel Wahab Salem later died because of the injuries in the attack.

One civilian was reportedly killed in an LNA artillery strike on the Souq Al Jumaa neighbourhood of Tripoli.

Libya Alahrar TV reported: “One person was killed by a Grad rocket attack on a residential neighborhood in the Souq Al Jumaa area in Tripoli.”

An Amnesty International investigation later found: “Anwar Mabrouk Mlitan, a 50-year-old carpenter father of six, was killed on the evening of 29 July 2019, when an artillery shell struck outside his home in the Souq a-Joumaa neighbourhood outside Mitiga. His brother told Amnesty International:

‘We were together with some neighbours and had gone to see what happened nearby where we heard shelling. Then we came home and I went into my house and Anwar before going into his house went to check on a neighbour, an elderly Syrian man who has lived here for many years. Anwar used to look after him because he was old and sick. It was then that the shell struck and killed Anwar. Six or seven shells struck around here, a few minutes apart. The one which killed Anwar was the last one.’

Fragments analysed by Amnesty International investigators confirm that the ordnance used in the attack was an OF-412 100mm projectile, almost certainly fired from a BS-3 artillery piece with a 20-kilometre range.”

Mahmoud Shalbik, a 23-year-old university student from Tripoli, was reportedly killed during armed clashes in the Libyan capital.

While most sources reported he was killed by stray bullet, UNSMIL said the “student at the University of Tripoli, Faculty of Economics, was killed at his home as result of incriminate shelling.”

Abdulrahman Ghummied stated on Twitter: “The young man “Mahmoud Shalbik” died because of a stray bullet and his friends survived driving to his house next to the bridge of Ben Ghashir.”

Local reports point at GNA-affiliated militia or the 7th Brigade as potential perpetrators of the shelling.

Between one and three civilians were reported killed due to indiscriminate artillery shelling in the Al Sabaa neighbourhood of Tripoli.

Libya Alaan wrote on Facebook that “a shell just has landed on a marble factory in the Al Sabaa area and killed one and injured three.”

Libya 24 reported that the man was Sudanese and it was a metal workshop, not the marble factory.

Afrigate News referred to the spokesperson for ambulance and emergency: “Ali said in a statement to Afrigate News that the clashes on Thursday left nine dead, including two civilians and 13 wounded, including four civilians, indicating that this is an initial outcome of what was transferred to the ambulance and emergency.

Ali pointed to a shell falling on a blacksmith workshop in the area of Al Sabaa, indicating that it left one dead (Bangladeshi nationality) and two wounded, one of them in serious condition.”

Local media reports point at GNA-affiliated militias or the 7th Brigade as the perpetrator.

Tripoli Al Izz wrote: “The death of the young Karim Qashout, born in 1997, one of the staff of the coast of sweets after the bombing of his house in Ain Zara.”

February TV said: “One person was killed and members of his family were injured when the Haftar militia bombed his home in Ain Zara.”

Tarek Alwan tweeted about the death of his relative: “The death of the son of my cousin Karim Qashout as a result of indiscriminate shelling by the forces of Haftar, born in 1997 young man and polite working in the coast of sweets.”

An Amnesty International investigation later concluded: “Fragments examined at the scene by Amnesty International investigators confirm the weapon was a Chinese Blue Arrow 7 guided missile, launched from a Wing Loong drone that was operated by pilots from the UAE on behalf of the LNA. This was a precision strike which, in the absence of any evidence to the contrary, targeted a civilian by his home in an attack which could have endangered other civilian members of his family. Direct attacks against civilians may constitute war crimes.”
