Libyan Crimes Watch wrote that “a civilian was killed and two others were wounded as a result of a bombing by the air that we could not locate. The mosque of the Jarif area, southwest of Sirte, was targeted on Monday, June 8”, adding that “the organisation condemns the continued targeting of civilians in Sirte and calls on the United Nations Mission to open an investigation into crimes against the population.”

TV Arrai posted a video on Youtube where a nurse says that two women were killed in the attack.

NATO on that day reported striking one “Ammunition Storage and Military Barracks Facility” near Sirte.

On March the 5th 2011, Gaddafi forces launched an air and naval bombardment on the city of Zawiya, resulting in the death and the injury of civilians. The rebels fought back and killed some Gaddafi soldiers and also African mercenaries.

According to Sayed Tawfik, Facebook post, said that “there was an air and sea bombardment in Libya on civilian targets in the city of Zawia and eyewitnesses from the field confirmed the destruction of tanks and that mercenaries soldiers were killed on this incident.”

@alalikhalid reported that “thirty people were killed, most of them civilians, in the fight in the Libyan city of Zawiya.”

According to Aljazeera, “a spokesman for the rebels in the city of Zawiya said that the Gaddafi Brigades launched a new attack and cordoned off the city from all sides, cut off phone calls, and violently bombed it from land and air for the second day in a row.

Journalist Ali Al-Mazdawi told Al-Jazeera that the outcome of the battles in Al-Zawiyah was 16 martyrs and 30 wounded.

CMS Aawsat reported that in the city of Zawya, “witnesses said the sound of artillery shelling and military helicopters shook the city, in an attempt by the forces of Gaddafi led by his son Khamis to control the city. The sources said all services were cut off from the city, the most important of which are medical services, water, electricity and telephones. The indiscriminate bombing left dozens of dead and wounded, causing unprecedented damage to the city’s history. The sources said leaders of the rebels «February 17» that there are bodies in the streets can not be reached, and that there are dozens of wounded who are killed by the forces of Gaddafi.”

Many buildings were set on fire in several buildings, including government buildings and a mosque. According to an eyewitness as a doctor at the medical centre “The Qaddafi forces attacked the medical centre, seized ambulances and killed three wounded people in the operating room.”

It was also added in CMS Aawsat that “the rebels killed about 37 Gaddafi soldiers, 13 African mercenaries.”

On July 31st, 2011, seven missiles were fired on Misurata, leading to the death of 3 men and wounding four others. Two brothers, Abdul Salam Abdul Latif and Youssef Abdul Latif were killed in the strikes, and their cousin Muhammad Abdul Latif died of injuries after. Four others were reported injured as a result of the strikes. It was unclear the combatant status of any of the wounded or dead.

LoverMisurata posted on Facebook “7 missiles fell on the city of Misurata, which led to the death of 2 of the Abdul Latif family, as well as wounding 5 residents of the city and losses in property.” They later described one fo the wounded, Muhammad Abdul Latif, as deceased due to injuries.

No additional information was provided on wounded.

Between 63 and 170 prisoners were killed in the early evening in Yarmouk prison under the control of Gaddafi forces in a warehouse in Khallet al Furjan on August 23, 2011.

According to the UN Report Source, in the early evening, prison guards at the facility threw between 6 and 8 grenades into the warehouse holding the prisoners and then the guards began shooting the prisoners with AK47s. The violence continued for between 10-30 minutes before the guards stopped, possibly to get more ammunition. A guard ordered to collect the bodies counted 109 bodies.

DW News reported that 50-53 charred bodies were found at the site of the massacre. BBC News reported that 47 bodies were found at the site but a survivor of the massacre said that 153 people were being held at the time and only 20 escaped. He also added that most of the detainees were civilians.

Lalout News reported that over 170 victims were killed at the Yarmouk massacre.

A tweet from @tkyroogklshytk reported that a shell fell on the house of the late Al-Sadiq Al-Suwai’i and a shop for building materials, adding in another tweet that shells and shrapnel fell on the house in Al Sab’a behind Raya al-Islam School.

Airwars assessment

Between three and five civilians were reportedly injured in what was described as indiscriminate LNA artillery shelling on the Al-Zintan neighbourhood in western Derna.

@Abo_moslem4036 reported a “random bombardment” at the west of the entrance to the Darna al-Zintan neighbourhood, which injured three women, a child and a man.

@deskdrnoe cited the LNA for bombing a residential area.

Libya Observer said the four civilians were injured by “heavy artillery shelling” by fighters loyal to Haftar. Citing local authorities, the Observer said that a “wife and a husband, as well as their daughter”, were injured.

Libya al Akhbar reported that three civilians were injured “in an artillery attack carried out by gunmen” loyal to the LNA. The report said the artillery had his Al-Zintan neighbourhood, and that one of the shells directly hit the house of Jamal al-Kubailit, which led the injury of his wife and daughter.
