Grad missiles reportedly fired by LNA forces struck civilian neighbourhoods in Al Baaysh, Tajoura, injuring three civilians.

Libya Akbar News reported that “Local sources confirmed that missile shells landed in the Tajoura region, amid reports of civilian casualties.”

Burkan Al Ghadab said that “Indiscriminate Grad missile shells fired by the war criminal militia militia Haftar have fallen on the residential neighborhoods of Al Baaysh, Tajoura, and 3 civilians have been wounded with shrapnel.” It also published photos of the aftermath.

The Libya Observer said one of those injured was seriously hurt: “The three wounded have been admitted to hospital; one of them is in a critical condition, in addition to the severe damage caused to private property, according to the information office.”

The incident occured during the night.

Airwars assessment

Air and missile strikes on the city of Msallata by the LNA and UAE killed three civilians, according to local reports.

Initially airstrikes had targeted a convoy of militants carrying what were said to be “Al-Wefaq militants” on the road outside Mislata. Address Libya claimed for example that “The Air Force bombed the locations and mechanisms of armed groups loyal to the Al-Wefaq government, west of Maslata, in Al-Watta and Al-Barakat regions, after they fled after a failed infiltration attempt into the Green Zone, Tarhuna.”

The dead and injured were transported to the city of Msallata – which then came under attack from Grad rockets. Burkan al Ghadab for example reported that “3 martyrs from the city of Musallatah after more than 10 raids by Emirati warplanes supporting the war criminal Hifter, and 8 Grad rockets fired by criminal militias towards residential neighborhoods in the city center.”

The Libya Observer said several civilians were also injured, though gave no number.

During a night of heavy LNA and UAE attacks on the city of Misurata – with at least 17 airstrikes reported, mostly targeting military sites – up to six civilians were locally reported injured.

According to Libya al Ahrar, “A medical source confirms to Libya Al-Ahrar the arrival of 6 wounded civilians to the emergency department of the Misurata Medical Center as a result of the bombing of supportive aircraft for Haftar sites in the city.”

Burkan Al Ghadab gave more details, noting that “The Accident and Emergency Department at Misurata Medical Center received 6 injuries as a result of the aerial bombardment of the city of Misurata, two cases were housed in the department, a state underwent an emergency operation and three cases of minor injuries who received first aid and left the department.” It also published photographs of some of the injured.

Al Mashad placed the number injured lower at four, noting that “The Misurata Hospital stated that four civilians were wounded by shrapnel as a result of the aerial bombardment carried out by the air force fighters of the National Army, targeting ammunition storage sites in residential neighborhoods since the late hours of Thursday, which resulted in violent explosions. The Misrata Hospital demanded the Presidential Council to remove weapons and ammunition depots from the population.”

The following day, al Wasat reported that ” the Presidential Council of the National Accord Government condemned the ‘treacherous aerial bombardment’ that targeted the city of Misurata on Thursday, ‘and resulted in the injury of a number of civilians’, noting that the bombing was ‘carried out by a supportive foreign aircraft’ for the commander of the national army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.”

One civilian was allegedly killed by LNA artillery shelling on the Salaheddin neighbourhood of Tripoli.

The Field Medicine and Support Center (FMSC) said: “Salem Al-Nafis Field Hospital, Salah Al-Din, affiliated to the Center for Field Medicine and Support, treated Mr. Ali Ramadan Al-Harak in Salaheddin today, Monday 16-12-2019, who was wounded with shrapnel of shells that landed near his house, which caused his head to be seriously injured and led to his death. He was transferred to Dar Al-Rahma at Tripoli Medical Hospital.”

Libya Alahrar TV wrote: “Ministry of Health spokesman Fawzi Onis confirms to Libya Al-Ahrar the death of a citizen as a result of a random shell fired by Haftar gunmen that landed on his home in Salaheddin.”

Salah Alkabgarie said a child was also injured.
