At least one civilian, a child, was killed and another civilian, a child, was injured in alleged Turkish strikes on a funeral procession in the towns of of Nubl and Al-Zahra on May 13, 2022.

According to Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a child was killed and another child was injured in the shelling of funerals for regime-backed militias in Nubl town. The militia members were killed when “a guided missile hit their vehicle in Ain Jarra and Al-Jabal Qabtan frontlines in the western section of Al-Halaby countryside,” killing ten fighters.

Journalist @LindseySnell and Violations Documentation Center put the casualty count at “two children killed, one child injured” in the Turkish shelling.

SOHR added that “three missiles hit the outskirts of Nubl town from the side of Al-Haj Saeed Sharbo Mosque in northern Aleppo countryside”.

Hawar News also documented the death of a child and the injury of a child, caused by Turkish strikes on a funeral processions for members of the “People’s Committees” in the towns of Nubl and Al-Zahra – 12 members of the “People’s Committees” were killed and 14 others were wounded in previous strikes by Turkish forces. Hawar News provided the names of the child killed and the child wounded: Ali Hussein Hajj Issa was killed and Mahdi Elba was injured.

The majority of sources that reported on the incident, including Hawar News and Al Mayadeen, attributed the strikes to Turkish forces. Al Mayadeen added that “rocket-propelled grenades” were used in the attack.

One civilian was killed by a reported Turkish artillery and rocket fire when it struck Mujbayrah village, Tel Tamr in Al Hassakah, Syria, on July 24th 2022. Four to five others, including two women, were injured.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the bombardment resulted in the death of one civilian in Mujbayrah village and the injury of eight others, including a woman and two children, in the area from Abu Rasin (Zarkan) to Tel Tamr countryside. However, the source did not specify whether the injuries occurred in in Tel Tamr or Zarkan district.

North Press Agency provided the name of the victims: Hassan Ibrahim was killed and Farhan Ali, 50 and Wadha Omar, 70, who are from Mujbayrah, Fayez Mahmoud, 19, from Khashmah, and Rajiha Yassen, 65, from Bab al-kheir were wounded. A source in the Tel Tamr Military Council also told North Press Agency that “one of Tawila’s residents got wounded due to the shelling”.

Hawar News reported that one civilian was killed and four others, including two women, were injured when Turkish forces launched a violent bombardment on Tel Tamr.

North Press Agency added that the shelling in the Hassakah by Turkish forces and their affiliates “left the Tel Tamr power transformer station out of service for the 27th time since the beginning of 2022.” The villages in Tel Tamr that were affected by the shelling were “Tawila, Tel Shanan, Umm al-Keif, the vicinity of the Russian Military Base, Tel Juma’, Ghaybish, al-Mujibera, Bab al-Kheir, and al-Khashma” in northern and western countryside of Tel Tamr”.

Up to two civilians, including a woman, were injured in alleged Turkish shelling of the village of Matmoura on October 4, 2022.

According to Hawar News, a civilian named Yashar Hussein al-Kamouri was wounded in the village of Matmoura by Turkish shelling.

North Press Agency also identified another civilian, a woman named Ishar al-Hussein, was injured in the bombardment of Matmoura. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her wounds.

Both Hawar News and North Press Agency reported that there was heavy damage to civilians’ homes from the bombing and displaced people from the villages. All of the sources that reported on the incident attributed the shelling to Turkish forces.

A SDF fighter was killed and another person, either another SDF fighter or a civilian, was injured in alleged Turkish drone strikes in the city of Rumailan on January 19, 2023.

A Facebook post by قامشلو الحدث Qamislo reported that a young man named Muhammad Diaa al-Din Hajji Muhammad was killed in the attack close to his wedding day. A Facebook post by the cousin of the victim named Alan Basho stated that the victim’s name was Rojhat Basho, which Hawar clarified is the victim’s “code name”.

Hawar News quoted a statement from the Syrian Democratic Forces who revealed that one of their fighters was killed and another person was wounded in the Turkish drone attack. According to the SDF, the fighter that was killed was working in the Department of Relations with the International Coalition. It is unclear if the other person injured was a fighter or a civilian.

Hawar News identified the location as the southern side of the town of Rumailan and the sources also quoted the SDF who stated that the drone struck a “military relations point in the town of “Rumailan” used to coordinate meetings with the international coalition forces.”

All of the sources attributed the attack to Turkish drones.

On Saturday July 29th 2023, in the early hours of the morning, the Tal Rifaat district in al-Shahba area in Syria was reportedly shelled by the Turkish forces, resulting in the injury of at least one civilian.

Local news outlet ANF News reported the shelling and alleged it resulted in one civilian injury: citizen “Azad Hussein Kol Dadu/Kaldado”. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights further reported that Azad Hussein Kol Dadu, a civilian displaced from Afrin, was receiving treatment in a nearby medical center.

These versions of events were reported in the media by ANF News and corroborated by other media outlets such as ANHA Hawar News Agency using their ground correspondent, the UK based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), and a Facebook post by a user linked to the ANHA Hawar News Agency.

A Facebook post by Syrian journalist Ehmed Rizgar reported “injuries among the citizens” from the shelling, adding that he was only able to document the name of one of them. However, it is unclear how many injuries he is referring to.

On Friday, October 20th, two civilians were injured as a result of alleged Turkish military bombing on the town of Akaybah (Ogaybah in Kurdish). They were injured while working in the fields surrounding the town, and were taken to the closest medical center for treatment.

One civilian was identified as 29-year-old Shaima Muhammad Rajab Talib. Sources remain divided over the identity of the second victim. While some reported the wounded to be a man, Farid Mustafa Barakat, others name the civilian as a woman, Farida Mustafa Barakat. Despite confusion over the gender of the injured, sources agree on the civilian’s age: 23 years old. Importantly however, an image included with a written source show two women holding their injuries. Both injuries appeared to be minor.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Turkish forces.
