According to multiple sources, two civilians women were wounded following an alleged Turkish shelling on civilian houses in Jindires, Afrin.

ANHA reported that Jindires was targeted by “dozens of missiles and air raids”, attributing blame to Turkey, like the rest of the known sources.

Airwars assessment

At least four or five civilians died in an alleged Turkish shelling of Miska Jorin village, according to sources on the ground in Syria.

Afrin Now reported the death of four civilians, three of whom were still under the rubble. Other sources also put the death toll at four.

ANHA was among several sources publishing a video of the aftermath of the attack. It reported: “As a result of the bombing of the village of Miska Fokani in Jandrissa area, 4 civilians were killed. The Kurdish Red Crescent teams recovered the body of one martyr while the bodies of 3 civilians were still under the rubble and cannot be reached due to the continued intensive shelling of the area.”

ANHA added that Turkey had launched attacks on Jindires with heavy weapons, as well as a bombardment by military and helicopter gunships.

According to Mutlu Civiroglu, five civilians were reported killed after their home collapsed over them. The body of one victim under rubble is visible in the video.

Two civilians died in an alleged Turkish shelling of Kortka village, according to local media.

Rok Online reported: “Our correspondent said that the Turkish artillery bombardment of the village of Kortaka in the Shara district, east of the province, led to the death of one person, amid continuing clashes in the vicinity of Shara between the protection units of the people and the Turkish forces and its Islamic militias.” Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights referred to “a number of martyrs”, reportedly counting both Kurds, Arabs and Armenians.

ANHA reported that Kortka was targeted by “artillery shelling”, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that civilians were killed by “Turkish air, artillery and missile attacks”.

According to ANHA, “the shells fell in the Ashrafieh neighbourhood of Afrin city, injuring two children, Hanan Nazal 10, Amal Hassan,14. The two children were taken to Afrin Hospital for treatment. Medical staff said that the girls’ health is stable.”
