One civilian was reported killed and others injured including women and children in alleged Russian airstrikes on Balyon in Idlib, Syria on June 9th, 2020. The wife of the victim was injured in the strikes and died of her injuries on June 12th, 2020.

Syrian Civil Defense reported that a civilian was killed and eight others, including five children and a woman were injured in Russian airstrikes that targeted Baylon with three raids when civilians were getting ready to flee.

Baladi News said that “a civilian was killed and others were injured, at dawn today, after airstrikes carried out by Russian warplanes on the villages of Jabal al-Zawiya in the southern countryside of Idlib. Baladi News correspondent said that the young man, Abdullah Ahmad Al-Dani, from the town of Kansafra, was killed as a result of an air strike by Russian warplanes on the village of Baylon in the southern Idlib countryside.”

SMART Agency reported that “a civilian was killed and others wounded on Tuesday, when Russian warplanes bombed the village of Baylon in Jabal Al-Zawiya, south of Idlib, northern Syria.” SMART continues that “The director of the Civil Defense Center in Billion, Tariq Alloush, said with a statement to SMART that a civilian was killed and eight others were wounded, including children and women, as a result of an aerial bombardment on civilian homes in the western neighborhood of the village, where civil defense teams worked to assist the wounded in the Idlib city hospitals.”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that “The intensive airstrikes killed a civilian in Balyon, while others sustained various injuries.”

On June 12th, the Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that Amenah Dani from Kansafra village died of her injuries on June 12th, 2020. The woman was injured in the alleged Russian strikes on June 9th, in which her husband was instantly killed.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights “notes that this attack which was carried out by Russian forces constitutes a breach of the ceasefire agreement reached after consultations between the Turkish and Russian presidents that came into force on March 6th, 2020.”

Though all the sources blamed Russian forces, @SyriaCivilDefense said the civilian casualties are a result of Russian airstrikes and artillery and missile shelling of the regime forces on different areas in Idlib and Hama.

The incident occured around dawn.
