A child and his father were reported killed, and five others including a woman were injured in alleged Russian forces or Syrian regime airstrikes or artillery strikes with rockets on Ariha in Idlib on July 14th, 2020, according to local sources.

Macro Media Center reported that “A father and his child were killed, and five others, a woman and four children who were displaced from the town of Kafrhaya got injured after a missile attack this afternoon, targeting the center of the city of Ariha and its entrances to the west of Idlib.”

The same source, which said the regime forces in Attarnaba town targeted Ariha with more than 40 grad missiles, identified the two victims as Mohammed Deeb Halabiya aged 40, and his child Akram Halabiya aged 12.

Shaam News said that the attack came after an explosive device had exploded during the passage of the joint Russian and Turkish military patrols on the international M4 highway in Idlib countryside, which resulted in injuries among Turkish and Russian soldiers, after which airstrikes and artillery strikes by Russian and the regime struck Ariha and other areas in Idlib.

Step News correspondent said that the shelling led to “a massive displacement movement from the southern countryside of Idlib, especially since many of the people returned to their homes after the Turkish-Russian ceasefire in mid-March.”

The incident occured in the afternoon.
