Airwars assessment
At least one civilians was killed and three others, including a child, were injured in alleged Russian, Iranian or regime artillery shelling on the town of Ain Larouz on August 8, 2021.
@syriapostnew1 reported that “a civilian was killed and 3 others were wounded as a result of artillery shelling by the Syrian regime forces targeting the town of Ain Larouz.”
A “Zaman Al-Wasl” reporter said that a civilian in his thirties died this morning, and three others, including a child, were injured. Step News identified some of the injuries as being serious.
The correspondent of Radio Al-Kul in the province said that “the regime bombed with several artillery shells agricultural lands and civilian homes in the village of Ain Larouz”.
The majority of sources attributed the strikes to the regime, specifically “regime forces stationed in the vicinity of the city of Kafranbel” according to Step News, and identified Russian laser guided Krasnopol shells as being used in the strikes. However, a tweet from @SbmjMS3nXS7DzvE blamed “the Russian and Iranian occupation militia” for the missiles and Zaman Al-Wasl assigned responsibility to the Russian-backed “25th Special Task Force”.
The incident occured around dawn.
