During the evening of Wednesday, 18th October 2023, Russian warplanes allegedly launched an airstrike that hit an out-of-service tank and a hay warehouse in a nearby building on the outskirts of Ishtabrag in the western countryside of Idlib, Syria, according to the Syrian Civil Defense. This led to the injury of a woman in the neighboring village Al-Kafir out of fear as she fled the bombing and the sounds of the raids. Airwars has not included this injury in the civilian harm toll because it was not directly caused by the explosive weapon.
The injured woman was offered first aid by the Syrian Civil Defense team. The victim’s name is unknown.
Syrian Civil Defense was the only source of information on the strike with other Twitter/X sources copying its information. Therefore, Airwars has graded the Strike Status as a Single Source Claim.
The incident occured in the evening.
