Airwars assessment
Between five and 11 civilians were killed, including three women and five children, and 15 were wounded in airstrikes against Darat Izza city in western Aleppo. The civilians killed were all reportedly members of the same family and included a couple who had just been married a few days before.
A video published by JisirTV showed an aerial view of the city, which had many destroyed and crumbled buildings and included a clip of the moment a parachute missile struck the vicinity and detonated.
A consensus emerged among local sources that Russian warplanes were responsible for the attacks.
However, Alyementoday, blamed regime forces for the airstrikes, while the Syrian Network for Human Rights – who put the death toll at 11 “from the same family” blamed “government warplanes (allies)”.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
