Between six and nine civilians died and as many as dozens more were wounded in alleged Russian or Assad regime airstrikes on the town of of Ma’dan and the village of Zour Shamr.
According to Baladi, “Local media sources said Sunday [July 23rd] that Russian planes targeted camps for displaced people in the towns of Maadan and Zour Shammar, on the outskirts of the village, in the eastern suburb of Al-Raqqa, with cluster bombs, killing six civilians and injuring more than 20 others.”
On July 23rd, Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently reported “more than 60 raids by Russian and Syrian airliners on the villages and towns of the eastern Raqqa countryside over the past 24 hours, with the use of explosive barrels and cluster bombs in these raids.”
@ZakariaNassani – also blaming Russia – put the death toll at nine with “dozens injured”.
Musa Al Khalaf reported “the martyrdom of Musa al-Ayyaji and the workers of a sweets restaurant – all the crew and the wife of Obaid al-Seba’a, and Dibo Ali al-Hussein al-Sulaiman”. These victims were also named by the Violations Documentation Centre.
