Local sources reported that up to five civilians were killed in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on the city of Al Atarib, Aleppo countryside, on July 25th, 2019. At least three others were injured.

@SyriaCivilDefe tweeted: “A man and a woman were killed and three others were wounded, as a result of the warplanes bombing the city of Al Atarib in the countryside of Aleppo this morning.” The SCD in Aleppo reported that two raids caused the civilian casualties.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights wrote that “at least two civilians one of them a woman, killed as fixed-wing Syrian regime warplanes fired a missile northeast of Al Atarib city in Aleppo governorate western suburbs, on July 25, 2019.”

According to Step News Agency, three civilians were killed, while @SyrianCoalition placed the death toll at five civilians, including two children.

@aaa1Sufian was one of the injured in the strikes and wrote on Twitter: “By the grace and praise of God, I survived today when the Russian aggression planes bombed the city of Atareb in the western countryside of Aleppo at 11 AM. When the popular market was targeted and I was present, there was a slight injury, thank God. Three were killed and dozens of civilians were injured.”

Tareq Matar identified the civilian fatalities, reporting “the martyrdom of Ahmed Omar Ghawi, his brother’s wife, Muhammad Omar Ghawi, and his son, and a great deal of injuries and destruction.”

Yazan Muhammad, a resident of Al Atarib told Zaman Al Wasl that the regime’s warplanes launched several airstrikes on residential neighbourhoods with vacuum missiles, which resulted in “the killing of the young man Ahmed Omar Al Ghawi and Amal Shahoud Dibeen, who is his brother’s wife, in addition to the wounding of three other civilians, including a child.”

Sources blamed both the Syrian regime and Russian forces for the strikes.
